I'd say just look at some of the popular stories, and see if you can figure out what kind of elements made them successful.  Try to gauge the ages and interests in the people who read them to get a better understanding of what kind of content you should include.  If you do the stoy in sections, make sure you update it regularly so you don't loose readers.  Interact with the community; read, comment and vote on other people's works so that your name starts to float about and more people will view your profile.  But I'm honestly a Wattpad noob, cause I just started mine like last week and have only posted once.  ^-^'  But that's normally the kind of things I do whenever I start a story, regardless of what site its on
