Got any ideas about this 'cloaked figure'? Maybe someone who was in the finals the previous year but was disqualified because they killed their opponent when they thought they were going to lose? Additionally, he/she could have a few pupils under them, that way it's not a free for all on one target.

That's just my first thoughts to come to mind.
