I just remembered something that I should have mentioned earlier. I will not poke people to post. I did that in the last roleplay, but not this time. I don't mean to sound like a bitch, I just have too much pride for that kind of begging.
I've gotten a start on Aurelia's post, if it's any consolation. I'll certainly have it up today - although it may technically be past midnight, which would make it tomorrow, but let's not quibble over the details.
Posted! I wasn't sure to what extent I had control over the enemies, so I stopped it there. Wren's Engulfer will cause the Lurker to attack her and only her, so everyone could just wail on it if they wanted, haha.
@bluejay_gl Both players and the GM control enemies. I wrote this in the Combat System, although it's easy to miss it. So, you can definitely describe them fighting. In fact, we need it in order to progress. So, you're more than welcome to edit your post and include a fight-scene.
Before I reach the portion of my latest post that involves a fight scene, would it be at all possible for me to retcon Aurelia's weapon and replace it with something a bit easier to write? Plus, it'd involve lots of graceful twirling.
Also, I am trash, and this fan-designed weapon looks really, really cool. The temptation is too real.
I only ask because I am not an engineer, know absolutely nothing about proper gun-wielding, and really don't fancy making a fool of myself.
I'll be re-writing a bit of Eric's weapon, in the way it works. I had a chat with some gun nut friends of mine and they gave me advice on how a railgun should function. My combat post I'm writing should reflect that.
Honestly, I'm not proud of my newest post at all. It's absolute crap, waaaay too long, awkwardly choppy in some places, and overall, I feel like I could have done so much better, but I'm tired and have a massive headache, so it'll have to do for now.
It was pleasant read for tea time, @clericbeast, don't you worry (green tea, if anyone was wondering). You should see my writing on bad days.
… On second thought, no one should read my bad writing. But I digress, I hope you feel better soon, clericbeast.
@Everyone: Now that we are officially in battle, there is one request I will need to make to the players: whenever your battle post exceeds a paragraph (approximately 3~4 sentences), then I would like you to have a summary of it at the end of your post. Something like this:
Alex used [insert spirit]
Alex punched Enemy A in the face
Enemy A kicked Alex
This will help immensely when calculating damage and whatnot :) Oh, for people who already posted, there's no need to change anything since we already calculated it.
@DJAtomika Ok, let us know what you edit in your character sheet.
@clericbeast No problem. I think you're overly critical and hard on yourself.
I'm a bit preoccupied with school things at the moment. I will get around to updating the combat stuffs and posting another post myself this week. Hopefully, the rest of the cast will join us.
Posted. And decided that I wanted to be like the cool kids and have fun font colors in my post too.
Now, if you will all excuse me, I need to go wallow in grief at my Red Wings being kicked from the playoffs tonight. So if you need me I will be curled up in the fetal position in the darkest corner of my basement wearing nothing put my old hockey pads, clutching a bottle of whiskey as I rock myself back and forth, and softly sing-crying "Hey Hey Hockeytown" until I eventually pass out.
Okay, so here's a bit of stats from the battle so far. We should update this after every post that is made, but this is just a practice battle, so it's not a big deal.
Eric took no damage from the Lurker as it was Provoked by Wren, but you don't have to edit this in your post now. By using Cherry Bomb, the Lurker is now Provoked by Aurelia and it will only attack her. "Provoke" is like your standard "Taunt" from World of Warcraft or any other game with "tanking" classes and skills.
The Lurker took no damage from Eric's Flash Freeze, as it is Immune to Water. However, it did receive the Slow status effect.
Cassie took no damage from the partial Hydro Blast, as the Lurker was Provoked by Aurelia. And I have no way of calculating 'area effect damage' or 'partial damage', but I might add it.
The Lurker's "Muddy Slime" was already exhausted with Wren's combat actions, but we didn't update the Combat Report, so there was no way for the rest of you to know. Most of the Lurker's spirits are exhausted or nearly so because of Eric's "Slow" condition.
Fun Fact: Cassie did the most damage with a single blow because of the "Might" boon on herself and the "Exposure" condition on the Lurker. Congrats!
Also, I forgot to add that everyone has Infect through Wren, as the Lurker's "Muddy Slime" hit her first. However, unless Wren does something again, this won't make much of a difference. The Lurker will probably escape with the next post.
