The ceiling begins to fade in as Lincoln's eyes reluctantly open. The heavy silence of the room isn't familiar to Lincoln. Growing up in Slight, there were always noises. The forest was a loud place. A peaceful place, yet loud. The constant sound of trees being cut, the trucks delivering the wood, the animals rioted. Lincoln finally sat up, rubbing his eyes. He stared at the wall for a bit, not really thinking about anything. The wall became fascinating. Lincoln looked at the door that connected the two rooms. The door that might open to a new friendship, to a new beginning. Lincoln stood up, then sat back down. Stood up again, then sat back down again. He debated his thoughts in a back-and-forth soliloquy. Lincoln finally made his decision, stood up, and made his way to the door. He stopped, right in front of it, staring at it. The soundless room left Lincoln thinking. He knocked on the door, "Um, hello? Paige?" No response. "My name is Lincoln, I am your neighbor. I just wanted-" Lincoln realized she wasn't there, but the door was oddly unlocked. He turned the knob but then released it, walked away and sat back down on his bed. "I need some fresh air." Lincoln suggested to himself. He got up, and left his room. He looked down both ways of the hallway, he saw some other recruits getting settled in and walking to their rooms. He recognized some faces from outside. He began to walk down the hallway towards the way downstairs.
