That's because 

1. He is isn't strong enough to even use it.

2. He pretty much is transport. Minus trains and boats. And on boats he kinda goes terrified mode.

I think he only reason I like Slayers is for their background. At least being raised by another creature. Their magic itself is ehhh to me.
