It's less escalating and more rapid-fire debating over the idea of a cash shop, don't worry too much, man. But yeah, I'd think that being able to tailor clothing is a MUCH better idea than a cash shop. That way, you generate a miniature economy within the game and give more roles to players not wanting to be on the frontlines, thereby sustaining those who do and wanna look fancy while doing so. I'd think it's a healthy idea.
