So, what's the story line?
The world fell into chaos, death. We thought that in 4,540 million years of earths existence that humanity was the first intelligent life. It couldn't be further from the truth. They call them Ṭhaḍha vāli'ā, cold dwellers. A long lost race that once lived under the arctic ice sheet. As almost all of the earth ice caps melted and the ice ran away, they were released. After a few years they surfaced. Iceland fell first. It was so sudden they didn't even know what had happened until it was too late. We fought back, and it got messy. Some of them were captured, experimented on. Their DNA was so complex, it advanced our medical technology and theories by centuries. Cancer was cured in 12 days. They targeted cold areas in the northern hemisphere, places they could survive. There was talk of nukes, but no one acted on it. We fought for 6 gruelling years. They took a final stand in Norway, and we crushed them. But they took us down with them. HE79 (Homotrophic Ebolarikus), a strain of Ebola. They delivered it into the oceans , most of the population was infected, apart from a select few genetically immune. Once you were infected it took a few months for it to take hold of you, but once it became potent enough in the infected individuals bloodstream, it only takes a bite, a few drops of blood or saliva to enter your body, and you turn. The genetically immune can use their blood to fight the strain, transfusions were frequent, but once you turned there was no going back. We call them zombies, because that's what they are.
