(I just created a scenario out of the blue, since your nation don't seem to have all the swords either.)

And considering my nation.
All i know is that in the game, my guys have the most armour of all, but are expensive.
But their normal enemies range from vikings to aztecs to lizard men. And somehow the nation seems kinda balanced to me compared to the others in the game.
Sure, it's easier to get magical beings like large serpents and monstrous animals from the wild, a normal force of good quality troops fighting my guys from the front, shieldwall against shieldwall, is often won by the one who holds formation the longest, or who can power through with a flanking force or some other means of disrupting them. Like let's say cavalry.

But my dudes are powerful in combat, there is no way around it.

I'm an Ulm fan too, but you're going way overboard with the inspiration. Beyond just taking the basic concept of black steel and forge masters, you're constantly mentioning the stats of black steel plates and the Ulm warriors in Dominions.

I'm not trying to be patronizing here, I just genuinely feel that it's more fun (and better practice writing) to use something as a mere inspiration rather than make a carbon copy of it. You said you'd change it up a bit for the purposes of the RP but aside from name I don't see many changes. My honest advice would be for you to change it even more.

I'm not going back and saying your nation is OP, mind you. No need to make changes that would make it weaker; I'd just stray away from basing every single concept upon Ulm. Ulm is like a less fiery, less magical, and more squishy Abyssia, if anything it's underpowered in Dominions :P

I think inspiration can come from anywhere; and personally most of my nation came from watching a David Attenborough show about the differences between the North and South poles. I haven't looked too deeply into dominions, and I'm sure Cyclone is right in what he's saying; but it's Klonsters choice at the end of the day. If someone wants to completely copy something else and it fits the setting then I see no qualm with it. Props to everyone else for original ideas tho

Yah, i mostly mentioned stats to make people more understanding of what i'm after.
And while you are correct that i have mostly just taken all the units and changed setting. I hope the changes make my faction at least a bit of its own.
The primary thing i've done after all is remove many units, and changed two or three weapons, for example i completely left out the heavy cavalry Ulm has.

And while i could try to claim Moose cavalry, or bear riders.... i do think its a bit silly. And horses don't really fit into Lûm.

But i wont deny it, i was not very creative when making this faction :/
I'll try to think out some more ways to mix up the nation, but as it stands i will play it as is.

Edit: Well i do have an idea to change how the infantry works, which i think mr Kaiser would approve of.
Greatshields, with a plate cuirass, a massive shield of steel, a fair amount of armour, focused on the right side of the body, since the shield guards the left side.
A closed helm with a visor, upon the helm is a "plume" made from a sheet of steel, so that rear ranks can see if those at the front turns.

Mixed into this, like one in ten, would be greatswords, full plate and full ferocity, whose job it is to charge out between the greatshields and disrupt the enemy.

With enough training, which isn't much, this martial art allows the user to channel his keys into a beam of celestial pants. This beam cuts through time and will attack the targets from all direction, including the past and the future.
To be hit by such a beam isn't good either, since all your thoughts become your enemies, and as such you now lack the knowledge of his presence, and you just got as many new enemies as memories, whom all of course know this martial art.. You are also transformed into a lamb.... which horribly explodes.
