That... was some serious ghosting, @Laughing Matter.

What do you mean?

Well, is there anything this character of yours CAN'T avoid with zero damage?

Lots of things can screw him up just fine, regular bullets just aren't going to do it though

I'd like some examples. You're avoiding the issue of the actual dodging, funnily enough, in favor of suggesting that there are things that'd totally hurt him if they hit.

I'm not, he didn't even dodge them all, I said some of them grazed him but they didn't pack the punch to damage him

Alright, so, he only just got grazed by a firing squad of thirty rapid fire weapons unloading on him from behind, from near point blank range? A firing squad made up from members of a variety of villanous henchmen from videogames, comic books, and children's shows, whose entire equipment is non-standard. The latter aren't allowed to use guns due to children protection, so they have lasers and plasma launchers. The former are armed with things ranged from guns that shoot lasers/globs of acid/mini torpedos to kaiju-hunting rifles. It's been this way ever since Shocker + was introduced.

Also you still haven't provided any examples as to what may pack enough of a punch to harm your character or addressed the issue of your character dodging all of this with only a few light grazes.

All you said from that post was a hail of bullets. How am I supposed to know all of that just from that post?

Anyway, this isn't that different from Vita's post, who also got grazed but her character just wasn't quite as durable as mine. She shouldn't have been that much further away from Kiba

But if you're really insistent on this, I'll just edit the post to say more of them actually do hit him, the outcome just won't change that much unless there was something other than "hail of bullets" which I missed

Also you still haven't provided any examples as to what may pack enough of a punch to harm your character

This isn't all that relevant, but fine. Knox's Red Key, Black Rock Shooter's cannon, Nono's Buster Beam, Superman's punches, Raiden's HF blade, just for some examples

So... GMPC's, Superman, and a vibroblade are on the level of what it takes to hurt him.

Nono isn't actually the GM's

Anyway, like I said, just some examples and they're by no means the only things that can do it. Also, I'm factoring the heavily nerfed for RP purposes Superman in that list.

If they're not the only things, maybe it would be wise to give examples from the low end of the scale. That is, what's the minimum requirement?

I guess that's a fair question

Anyway, I did say in my profile that he can punch harder than a tank shell and I did intend for him to take what he can dish out, so the minimum to really hurt him would be a maverick

OK, post is up.

Sorry for the double-post, but dude,@IncredibleBee, you last post was incredibly bad form. Godmode-killing a non-mook character is one thing, regardless of whether or not it was in character for Guts to attack, you should have given Vita a chance to respond. But ignoring a GM post correcting you? That's really not on.

Guts is a mercenary, right? How would he fit in with Shocker+? I can send something with SCIENCE to pick him up if you want, @IncredibleBee.

@IncredibleBee: Okay, even beyond what I've heard that he apparently would not immediately attack...

You've outright ignored my IC post about her defending herself. I did stop arguing in the OOC, yes, but that was because I was trying to figure out how to word my response. It's never acceptable to instant-kill any NPC's aside from mook characters. Also of note, when I say mook I mean the nameless kinds that are just there for a fight scene.

At this point I'm seeing very little options, especially with your insistence on ignoring what the GM says.

@Laughing Matter: You have indeed been ghosting, and if I knew you meant that level of durability I would not have accepted your character.

I don't think there's many characters who can put that level of power into an attack, and they few that can don't do it for every basic attack. Very few require that amount of damage to hurt them. Maybe Saber if it's a totally mundane form of attack, but even then...

It's also worth noting that Black Rock Shooter was not using attacks of that level of power, those were her basic shots. I'm wondering if you're simply wary of trying to no-sell the GM's characters.

If that's the case you should apply that to all characters, not just mine. Ghosting away every hit and treating your character as an unstoppable force of destruction is really not acceptable.

Even Dlanor, who canonically completely ignores pain, is a an incredibly murderous executioner of heaven, and has taken a spear through her neck and not even flinched can still be disabled by damaging her limbs even if it won't be permanent(but then this is an RP and permanent injuries should only be dealt with player permission anyway).

Edit: I think it's important to note that Dlanor seems pretty much immune to things that don't actually cause injury. Nothing like that seems to harm her at any point, so if you want to hurt her go for things that cause those kinds of wounds.

Also the red text is representing Red Truth, which she often uses in this situation. It's... words that are literally red and are also absolutely true. Of course, the way it's worded means that Dlanor will always plan on killing these people, not that she won't say, leave if ordered to or for whatever reason. It is purely referring to her intent, since Red Truth is true but can be worded in ways that leave openings for other things.

Well Vita, I was willing to follow through with what we had going, provided you were willing to listen, and also explain how the firechick could survive a pretty strong attack from Guts. Instead you kinda just forgot about me, so I figured it better to go ahead and continue on with my own thing, and wait for another opportunity to enter the main plot.
If it's really that much of a problem, we could always restart the encounter. You can even use a different NPC if you want, one that would draw less ire.

As I said last night: the Dragonslayer is not antimagic. It does not automatically negate anything magical that it happens to come near. Even if its anti-demonic features and astral existence would help, that doesn't inherently mean it goes through an unknown enchanted substance like it's butter. FFS, for all you know, the staff simply has a shear strength beyond how it looks.

Except it's totally antimagic, and I can provide several examples of it cutting through magic and even hurting entirely ethereal beings.

As I said earlier, magic in the Berserk-verse isn't divided into subcategories of "demonic" and so-on. The Dragonslayer doesn't strictly affect demons, because demons in the normal sense aren't even a thing in the Berserk-verse. Either it comes from the astral realm or it doesn't.
And if we want to get really, really technical on how the Dragonslayer works, allow me to explain: it's soaked up so much magical blood it's starting to simultaneously exist in the normal and astral planes, essentially making it more real than anything else.

Also, it was never specified what material specifically the hammer was made of, so naturally I assumed steel or some similar alloy. The shaft is rather thin in the first place, and Guts can cleave through some seriously strong stuff with even just a normal sword.

Guts is a former mercenary, and doesn't really work as a sellsword anymore. I could see him temporarily allying with a group if they had a mutual goal or could at least give him a lift somewhere else.
I don't see him as someone who'd refuse a good offer, but you also gotta be really wary if a deal seems too good to be true, you know?

Plus there's the whole, "Eternally hunted by monsters wish to drag his soul away, also being hunted by a paladin order, also his greatest enemy is the Antichrist" thing going on. Any straight offer would be fishy.

On the other hand, he's in a rather odd situation, and with little money, selling out may be his only option.

In short, I could see him working freelance as a mercenary in exchange for supplies and transportation from Earth to Earth until he finds home.

Your fundamental, and fundamentally flawed, assumption is that because magic = astral (and thus 99% likely to be described as demonic because this is Berserk and the world hates you; when most of what's there seems to be 'Apostles' it fits) in the original setting, all magic that shall ever show up in the RP works on the exact same rules. Not to mention that 'can cut purely magical/astral things' is not anti-magic. Anti-magic is cancelling it. That means, following simple logic, that just because you could cut something, doesn't mean you have cut something.
