Once, there was an evil overlord who ruled the kingdom with an arcanium fist. Throughout Mellow Hills, Heaven's Peak, Evernight Forest, the Golden Hills and the Ruborian Desert. His son expanded his rule, beginning with the northern town of Nordberg and continuing to the elven lands of Everlight, the Empire and the Wastelands.
It's been years since the last Overlord has been lost to the hands of the Reaper, however, and the lands have returned to their peaceful state. Nobody looks to the sky, fearing flaming stones to rain upon them, or walks through town, cowering at the thought of a dark, armored figure stomping through, a number of goblin-like minions following him. They need to be taught to fear evil again!
I am Gnarl, the oldest and wisest of the minions. I am here to help you along your journey. However, this time, you're not alone. There are 4 of you to battle the cute, the fluffy and the downright disgusting peace. Follow in the footsteps of your father and grandfather. Spread evil and chaos. Show everyone what evil can truly do. It's a family tradition, after all.
In the games, there are 4 types of minions: Browns, Reds, Greens and Blues. Browns are physically strongest, making them able to deal and take the most damage. Reds are physically weak but can throw fireballs and absorb flames. Greens cannot take as much damage as browns but can deal more with their "assassin" style attacks of leaping on their target's back, not to mention their immunity from poison and ability to destroy plants that create poisonous gas. Blues are physically the weakest but are the only ones who can swim and are able to revive dead minions, making them great for any team.
I am going to add 4 types of minions: Yellows, Purples, Blacks and Whites. As far as physical strength, Yellows are on par with Greens. They also have the ability to make plants grow from seed to dead and any point in between. Purples are physically the weakest but mentally the strongest. These minions are able to use their mental powers to build from rubble, launch boulders and crush enemies from afar. Blacks are like a glass cannon, able to deal large amounts of damage with few attacks but cannot take very much damage. Whites are the exact opposite of that, though, and can take a lot of damage but deal very little.
Each Overlord will be able to summon 2 types of minions: 1 canon, 1 of my created. Keep in mind that no 2 Overlords can control the same types of minions or that some minions are able to do similar jobs (such as reds and purples both being able to deal damage from a distance) making them overlap a bit. This makes it possible for one Overlord to go off on his/her own but gives better bonuses to those who work together.
You also get to choose your mother. Kelda is a strong woman, giving her offspring a small boost in strength but an equal decrease in magic and speechcraft. Juno, with her beauty and sharp tongue, would pass those to her children, making them more able to lead great cities, but they would be physically and magically weaker than their siblings. Fay, having once been the Elven Queen of Everlight, would give her children a small increase in magical power, but they would have a lessened strength and speech skill.
Yes, there will be magic. I am still working on what exactly to put in, though, as the games all have different spells.
Each Overlord will have an elemental attack, an elemental shield, a mind altering spell and a minion enhancing spell. Some of these I will make, others will be created and/or chosen by the players.
