Pulse is making sure that whatever Kassy gets is going to either be something Regis can't over power and eat, or something he can't get to in the event that it is something he could over power since monitor lizards tend to be opportunistic predators. I just screwed up a bit when I made my last post. 

As far as the eggs go, Regis like all monitors can eat them both ways, however it's advised to just keep them on raw since it's a lot easier on their digestive systems.
