Den and Dem were pleased when the smaller creature approached them with a pretty new item to trade. The brothers excitedly examined the large beautiful tusk. It was a gleaming white and smooth to the touch. Both knocked their knuckles on it and listened to the sound it made. Den and Dem first bargained between each other and decided to share the tusk and therefore they would pool their treasures to trade for it.

The brothers sat down in the sand facing the child and began placing their first offer between them and the child. All of their sweetgrass, rocks that when stuck together made pretty lights, a stone that felt cool to the touch even in the hot desert sun, and Den's pet toad (only after a tearful goodbye).
