[@vietmyke] I'm mostly going for the former. I think what I'll do is reduce his age more, make him just a decently competent hammer user tanky sort, and later have him slowly start learning some dark magic. I'll remove the experiments altogether and just have him kept as a political prisoner, and since a younger apprentice could have been sent off to the caravans without issue, I won't kill off the other Slayers and just have them left behind.
