I think there's already one of two factions like that (I know ASTA's "civ" is just a bunch of ships with a very similar concept to your's) and some other things to note is that, how would a ships from the past be more advanced than what most other civs already have. I think some of the more knowledgeable people might have some objections to the time-travelling black hole ideas but I won't know about it since I'm not one of them and also, I don't think our races are constantly at each other's throats. There's one war going on that's more orgaincs vs synthetics and one situation where someone got to close to a space without proper notification. Most of us are still going through the first contact procedures.
