Gnarl laid in his bed, listening to a music box playing the lullaby that he had sung to every Overlord child he had helped raise through the centuries. On the table across the room sat 5 pictures. on the far left was Lord Gromgard, the first Overlord and the man Gnarl had originally been loyal to, followed by his son as an infant. On either side of the boy's crib were his older siblings, the Elven brother and Dwarven sister. The picture in the center was the third Overlord, one that had once been human before becoming greater. Next was his son, a small boy running through the northern town of Nordberg with a small band of Minions. Finally, the picture on the far right showed 4 infants, each of them resembling their father and their differing mothers.

"It's time." he said to himself as he climbed out of bed to begin getting dressed. "Today is the day they must be told. Their mothers have made me wait this long. I can wait no longer. The children must know." Once dressed, he left his room with a sigh as he shook his head.

Giblet ran past him, laughing as he leapt over the elder's head.

"Giblet!" Gnarl yelled in response. "Aren't you supposed to be at the forge?"

Giblet stopped and spun to look at Gnarl's frown. "But, Gnarl, forges be gone."

"Gone?!" Gnarl yelled. "What happened to them?"

"Dwarves take Arcanium, elves hide Durium and halflings steal steel." the smith replied sheepishly.

Gnarl stomped angrily to the throne room, grabbing an apple as he passed through the kitchen. "You four!" he yelled, pointing at a small group of minions. "Go get the Overlord's children. It's time they knew their jobs."

The four of them ran off, each one disappearing down the hall from Gnarl's view.

"It's time." he muttered again with a frown.

-----

Each of the four minions that had run from the throne room on Gnarl's command arrived in different rooms, each one waking the dark children from their slumbers with near unintelligible babble of Gnarl, the throne room and their father.

Like his mother, Kaldir had a taste for furs. Wolves, seals, bears, and more covers his bedroom, many of which he had caught himself much to Kelda's approval. When the minion barged in unannounced babbling about many things at once, it quickly was awarded with a swift kick which sent the poor creature flying. A rude awakening indeed, Kaldir rose from the pile of furs like a great beast himself before gettin dressed.

Standing before the mirror one thing could be said, he looked like his father. They all did, his siblings and him, but he had some of the strongest resemblances. If you where to put both of them in the same suit of armor you would be hard pressed in decided which was which. However he did have his differences, unlike the soft swirled markings his father was born with, Kaldir's were hard angles and harsh upon his skin. Beyond that his eyes were also darker, more red than orange and they shined much brighter.

A grunt escaped his lips and Kaldir began to pull clothes onto himself. They were simple garments, mostly black leather, iron buckles, and the occasional red sash. The clothes seemed like a practical leather armor by the time it was all put on, not the metal he would prefer to wear but it would D. Finally a scarf was wound across his face, obscuring Kaldir's face just over the nose which a simple hat covered the rest. Kaldir had picked up a lot from his father, one thing of which was the habit to ware face hiding garments.

With everything done, Kaldir marched from his room to the throne. The minions seemed to be scrabbling much more than usual and he was bound to find out why soon enough.

Luna stomped from her room, minion's head in hand, her long, dark red, hooded robe covering her from head to toe. Hearing something behind her, she saw a minion laying on the ground across the hall from Kaldir's open door. As she got closer, absently noticing the minion still breathing, she heard the shuffle of her brother dressing. She grabbed the head of the minion that had been unlucky enough to wake her brother and began towards the throne room, her red-tinted, golden eyes glaring down the hallway. After a while, she heard Kaldir coming up behind her.

Being the youngest, Luna had her advantages and disadvantages. She was the smallest, allowing her to get into most places her siblings couldn't, but she was also the shortest and often had to ask her brothers, sometimes her sister as well, to grab things on shelves too high for her to reach.

"Kaldir." she said, turning to thrown the minion that had woken him to his feet. "I'm guessing you'll want to deal with that maggot yourself?"

As a loud noise awoken Seirya, she opened one of her eyes, as the dark red eye looked towards the sound. All it saw was a minion, that made the worst mistake of entering her room. For those whom know her, would also know that underneath her blankets, there would be a razor sharp spiked whip, awaiting its next victim.
As Seirya removed the blankets from her body, the whip slashed trough the air and striking the minion in half. She then slowly arises from her bed, walking to her mirror and brushes her dark purple hair. As she finished brushing, she could hear the sounds coming from outside her bedroom. It seemed something was going on outside, almost like there was something about to happen. She immedialty walked to her wardrobe, grabbed one of her dresses and changed into it.

As the pitch black dress covered her body, although it was showing more of her body than it would truelly cover, she walked out of her room.
Although she kicked the minion outside of her room, before leaving it. She didn't wanted a rotting body inside of it. As she made her way towards the throne room, her whip screeched across the floor. It was normal for her to have her whip around her waist, only the end of it would touch the floor, creating a sound which most ears would displease.
As she notices her two siblings, she smiles and bows a bit short. Somehow most would say she had manners, but that was when she would wear a dress. Once her armor comes on, the true beast gets released and hell would burst.
"Good morning Luna and Kaldir, does anyone of you know why we were awoken this early?"
Her pitch black eyes go from one to the other, as she slowly scans the area for her younger sibling Hanovar, whom apparently wasn't here yet.

Hanovar was not accustomed to being woken up, he usually woke up when he wanted to and not to some blabbering idiot trying to get his attention. He stayed laying for a bit longer before his patience ran down and he got up to throttle the minion for a few minutes after which it limped out of the room having sent its message and not wanting a repeat beating. The younger man regained his composure shortly after before dressing himself in a blue robe and checked himself in his mirror for a moment checking his short well groomed hair and short beard as well as his light orange eyes. Maybe he wasn't as physically adept as his siblings but if anything he got the better looks, at least against his brother, and he could talk his way out of most anything with quick mind and tongue. He soon left to see why he had been bothered this morning as well as why they sent a minion of all things to disturb his sleep which he had been enjoying.

Hanovar stalked his way out into the throne room giving his siblings a more courteous and very show offish bow as a greeting to them. He had heard Seirya's question as he moved his way up to them and was curious as well but notably annoyed with being woken up early. The others were likely to not have enjoyed the awakening themselves though in different ways from his own but it mattered little because they were all here now.

"I do hope the reasoning is good whatever the case." The younger man said making his interest and displeasure known simultaneously.

The minion trembled in Kaldir's fist as he rose it to his eyes. He was sure it would piss on him if he stared too intensely, but it was a brown and Kaldir had a certain fondness for them even if this one was just a house minion. Dropping the pitiful thing unceremoniously on the ground, Kaldir gave it another kick before it scampered off to some corner of the keep.

"Killing them only makes them useless, why waste the effort to break a tool that works?"

Of his siblings it seems that Kaldir was the only one who had inherited the spirit of martial domination, the will to stomp upon the skulls of the weak with an iron boot. Hanovar seemed more like the politicians of his mothers homeland, using honeyed words and intrigue to get what he wanted while his sisters reveled more in the bloodshed of things. A biased opinion but one he would stick with unless proven otherwise.

Kaldir himself paid little mind to the flourishes of his younger siblings, instead he stood ready for whatever news Gnarl had ready. Whatever it was it was bound to be important and he wanted to hear every bit of it.

Luna stood beside Kaldir, frowning. "What is it, Gnarl?" she scowled.

"It's time for you four to conquer the lands. They've fallen too deep into peace since your father's reign." he sighed, glancing at the empty throne. "You all have your loyal minions from your births but you must find the hives. Working together will grant better rewards." He walked past them to a nearby pool. "But, first, there's the matter of the tower heart. Apparently the guards let the humans of Spree take it."

Luna shook her head with a hefty sigh. "And how are we supposed to get to Spree?"

"Calm yourself, young one, I have enough magic to send you that far. You need only step into the pool." He motioned towards the small pool of water that the tower heart was usually housed under.

Hanovar was quite interested in the idea of retaking rule over what was the four's birthright as he saw it. He was quite eager to get to work given the opportunity to gain power and infamy despite a modest start what with having to retrieve the Tower Heart. He mumbled a curse at the idiocy of the guards making the lives of himself and his siblings less convenient as well as the humans in Spree for wasting his time. Sure they worshipped him but the resemblance to his own methods sometimes grew tiring though truly there was little that couldn't be accomplished with some coins and maybe a bit of guile. It didn't exactly leave much room for wonder why they looked to the Overlord who knew their language and wasn't afraid to speak it to get what he wanted.

"Humans...I have the feeling this is going to be infinitely more complicated than it should need be." Hanovar said with noted exasperation just thinking about it. "Agreed brother."

Where the two brothers weren't exactly alike they sometimes had similar thoughts and keeping the minions alive was one, after all they would actually have to work hard without the little buggers. There was hostility from the siblings but minions never really cared as long as the masters were content or at least not killing or beating them.

Seirya listened to what Gnarl had to say, and grinned for a short periode. They were finally hearing what their true calling was in this world, and that meant taking back what was theirs.
With or without violence. Although she wondered what those humans wanted with the world heart.
Although she wondered why they heared it just now, and not earlier.
"And why are we hearing this just now? And not earlier Gnarl?"
She looked towards the minion, as if he made a great mistake by telling it just moments ago instead of years ago.

"Ask your mothers." he frowned. "They still wanted me to wait until the youngest of you was out of her teens." With a motion towards Luna, he sighed.

Luna rolled her eyes. "Then it looks as if our mothers aren't truly as evil as we were led to believe."

"Or they're being overprotective mothers who don't know how to deal with their children growing up." Gnarl sighed again. "Anyways, you'll need your armors. Giblet should have them stashed in the armory."

"Well, I think my sister and I should change before we put on our armors." she said, glancing at Seirya.

Kaldir gave a dismissive grunt at the going one before him. Tower heart gone, minion hives gone, and who else knows gone. This was pathetic really, how everything fell apart after Fathers death. In the end it did not matter, it was time. "Finally." Kaldir said to no one I particular before leaving his siblings behind.

The walk was short in the grand scheme of things, only taking several minutes in all to reach the Forge. Gibblet's forge was Kaldir's favorite room personally, the flames warmed his flesh pleasantly and the ring of a hammer against steel was like music to his ears. Unfortunately it was cold and silent, everything taken from them. It was enough to cause his fists to clench together and his scowl to deepen, whoever took the forge would pay dearly for their transgression.

Luckily for all parties involved, Kaldir found his "gift" upon display. Gibblet had made it in the same vein of his father given their similar build. However it had symbols and busts of wolves instead of minions, most like at the behest of his mother. Interestingly enough his mother had used the pelt of a great black wolf as the cape, an old one at that. The edges where tattered and frayed, giving an air of menace to the already domineering aura of the suit.

At the feet of the suit lay a simple box with a note. Gingerly he picked up the box and looked at the note, written by his mother.

"My little witch boy, I may not be ready to accept it but you are ready for the outside world. Remember, aim for the heart, give no mercy, and raise hell."

Taking the lid off, Kaldir peered inside to find a black scarf. Removing the old one upon his face, Kaldir wrapped it around his head like his mother taught him and when he was done began to don his armor. The minions quickly assisting in its adornment.

Hanovar made a quiet chuckle at Luna criticizing Seirya's dress choices before leaving for the armory himself not wanting to keep evil waiting. The armory was needless to say not his favorite area what with weapons and armor being less necessary to him than say Kaldir who relied on overwhelming force to get what he wanted, though protection never hurt anyone. He despised the silence of what was normally a very busy area because nothing was getting done and even if he wasn't particularly fond of it Giblet and the other minions would be sitting around doing nothing and being useless. It wasn't hard to tell his brother had special place in hell reserved for whoever touched the forge and would likely be the first one on whoever was responsible, as for his sisters they would find some reason or another to be upset about it as any good evil being would.

Hanovar moved onward to start getting his armor together which was set up on a stand for him not all that far away from his brother's. It was styled much like that of an imperial officer, scaled armor covering a solid but comfortable leather tunic with a rounded helmet affixed with a plume. His armor was had more than its share of adornments, a gift from his mother no doubt given the quantity, which would likely make it more akin to what an emperor would have worn what with the blue and gold gilded cape off the back of it as well as some of the myriad of ornamental ribbons and gold affixed to it but nonetheless managing to be practical in its protective value. There was a pendant laid out in front of the armor or what looked like one but on closer inspection it was one of the golden coins of the empire on the end of the chain. He allowed the minions to apply what armor and ornaments he couldn't himself and slipped the coin's chain over his head down to his neck before his helmet smiling slightly knowing the message of money being power because without it there was nothing, also that his mother likely expected gifts which he might send on a good mood.

"I could get used to this." Hanovar said feeling rather satisfied with his ornate armor while looking over at his brother's which fit his personality. "The Emperor and The Warrior, I think it suits us well."

The younger Overlord laughed a bit feeling exhilarated for finally getting out and showing the world who owned it.

As their brothers left for the armory, Luna headed back to her room, changing from her robe to a black, hooded shirt, a pair of black leggings and black cloth boots. Once dressed, she headed to the armory.

"So much like your mothers." she rolled her eyes at her brothers before donning her own armor.

It was simple armor, a breastplate with a leaf at the top of the chest, a pair of long greaves with vine-like designs trailing down each side and a pair of gauntlets, the left gauntlet having a gold stone with a vine design around it.

Looking at the men, she donned her helmet, the leaf-like crown around the top sticking out slightly. Through the eye hole, she looked around the room.

"Mother did always have a sense of practicality and personification." she mumbled to herself, looking at the gem on her left hand.

Seirya glanced at her little sister, before smiling at her. Although it was true that in these clothes one couldn't fight. Her armor wasn't even as close as an normal armor would be.
Before leaving, she looked at Gnarl one last time, smiled at him and turned around.
"Next time something gets stolen, it will be your head that I shall take, Gnarl."
Knowing that her sibblings already left the throne room. She knew only Gnarl would hear it.

As she slowly made her way towards her own room, she took a look across her shoulder towards Gnarl. It seemed he was walking from one side to another constantly. Perhaps he had forgotten how brutal a woman can be.
As Seirya entered her room, her dress slided of her body and fell upon the ground. With just a small coverup on her body, she walked towards her closet. As she glanced inside, she grabbed a simple dark red shirt that was tight around her upper body, as for her lower body, she grabbed a skirt that was loose around her legs, but kept itself in place around her waist.
With her new clothes on, she walked towards her shoes, glanced at them and grinned. The boots that were with her armor were much better.
As she made her way to the forge on bare feet, she took one last glance into the Throne room, but couldn't see Gnarl anywhere.

As she entered the forge, she noticed that it was mostly stripped of all it's usefullness.
Although, she hated this place, so whom would care. As she noticed her sibblings changing all together, she smiled and made Giblet show her, her armor. As Giblit slowly nodded, he showed her the room he had prepared for her to change. Seirya hated it to change together with her siblings for the fact that her body was her own to see, and not theirs.
As she grabbed her whip and placed it at her side, she walked towards the mannequin and glanced at her armor. It wasn't much, just a simple breastplate that stopped right above her stomach and only protected her upper body, a skirt created from metal, to fit just ontop of the skirt she was wearing now, and her boots, whom were no ordinary boots, but looked more like heels. With spikes underneath her boots, and three untop of her toesection.

As she grinned, she grabbed her whip and slashed it around her waist. As for her finishing touch, she grabbed the gauntlets that were created for her. As she placed them onto her arms, she smiled. They were created tl be light, sturdy and able to resist quite some damage. As for the token that her mother left her... She had ripped that out of her armor long ago. It was the piece of armor that protected her stomach, and she despiced it. It wasn't her, and she wasn't like her mother.
As she slowly made her way out of the room, she grabbed her whip and slashed it around her gauntlet.
As she walked towards her siblings, she looked at how the forge was now.
"If you asked me, this is quite an improvement, don't you say?"
She grinned as she looked towards her siblings, and as Giblet came running after her, he handed the helmet that was meant to be with the armor.
As Seirya placed it upon her head, the only thing that was visible, were her pitch black eyes.

Of his half siblings, Seirya was his least favorite. Like het mother she was too self absorbed to get along with and become overly cruel as time had passed. In short, she was an arrogant princess who was used to getting what she wanted. Kaldir did not like her at all and instead chose to interact with her as little as possible.

Moving passed Seirya Kaldir instead plucked a large mace from the weapon rack, a large thing nearly as tall as he was, and gave it a practice swing that shattered a large stone into fragments. Holding his weapon aloft, Kaldir spoke a simple sentence. "Let us take back what is ours."

Hanovar grabbed his morningstar from next to the armor stand giving the spiked mace a few swings to regain the feel for it. It was a savage weapon which definitely made a statement to either the receiving target or they're comrades watching it crush and rip into whoever got hit. The most important thing is that a message was sent that it would be better to bow down or die horribly, either was an acceptable outcome for those opposed to the siblings if given the choice.

"Either way, its armor and it has its purpose but doesn't mean it can't look good." He said in honesty, probably quite surprising given Hanovar's habits. "Time to get moving then I suppose."

The young Overlord was ready to get out and cause some havoc should it be necessary heading back up towards the throne room. There was a need to put Spree back in its place which no doubt would take some time, or not and be very short but there was easy doubt to it.

Luna picked up her sword and, after a few practice swings, slid it in its sheath on her hip. She was right behind Hanovar on his way to the throne room and quickly walked straight to the pool of water.

"Are you ready?" Gnarl asked, coming from one of the long hallways.

Luna was the first to answer. "I was born ready." She had only been thinking that Spree would pay dearly for taking the tower heart. First Spree, then the world.

Gnarl looked at the others, smiling as he heard each of their answers.

Seirya glanced at her siblings, and as each of them passed her, she grinned. She knew Kaldir didn't liked her that much, and she was pleased with that. Bringing down terror upon the world was fun, but bringing down her family would even be more fun. Although for now, they all had their part in a play that Seirya tried to control into her favor.

As she noticed each of them went back to the throne room, she smiled and slowly walked after them. Although before walking up, she went back to her room and grabbed a cloack from her drawer. It was old, but it was the only thing she truelly had kept from her younger days when she still loved her mother.
As she placed the cloack around her body, she smiled. It covered her armor and only showed her gauntlet which held her whip.

Slowly she smiled as she looked into the mirror, then turned around and walked into the throne room. As she looked at her siblings, she smiled and looked at Gnarl.
"Let's just start it already, it's time to show that the overlords are back once more! And that terror will reign upon their homes again!"
Seirya smiled at the tought of seeing all races run in fear, once they set foot upon their lands!

Hanovar stretched a bit noting the eagerness of his sisters, something he could use if anything but it was always something to keep in mind. He looked over the Gnarl examining the old minion master for a moment wondering just how much trust in someone that had seen the rise and fall of several Overlords before them. It was a line of thoughts he would keep to himself because much like Gnarl he didn't trust anyone all that much including his mother who was easily turned.

"Lets raise some hell." He said looking between his siblings and Gnarl before stepping up to the pool himself.

Once the four of them stepped through the pool, they appeared in a field. Behind them was the portal stone to the tower. Around them, 4 holes appeared, a brown, red, green and blue sticking their heads out of each hole.

"The masters!" a brown called, climbing out to run up to Kaldir. Seeing the brown running to Kaldir, the red ran to Luna, the green to Hanovar and the blue to Seirya.

Luna looked at the red and lifted her left hand, calling the rest of the reds available, which only happened to be 10.
