Here goes!
"Sometimes icy heart just needs warm smile." Name: DIETER ADLERSFLÜGEL Age: 41 Gender: M Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Role in Society: Unlanded Knight Occupation: Paladin Legend: A folk hero; known in his homeland as the defender of the weak, the unfortunate, the downtrodden. You will not hear his name boasted loudly and audaciously in the songs of taverns, but rather woven into children's tales and bedtime stories. His name is not etched in stone or gilded on a bronze statue, but echoed around a caravan's evening flame. His stories are soft, yet loud. Proud, but not prideful. Strong, but not overwhelming. Kings, nobles and lords will not know of him but in passing, but great tales are shared by vagabonds and tramps. They are all similar, but unique: A large man, a great shield, a stalwart spear, holding back a torrent of water or flame. Slaying a great beast or sheltering a wounded animal. Vanquishing the dark, or feeding the homeless. All the same stories, of the same man, protecting the same people. Appearence Picture:

Appearence: Dieter wields a large tower shield and a modest spear. His eyes a muted brown. Not pictured is his grand beard. Personality: Jovial, but a humble warrior. He likes to make new friends and comrades. Charitable, brave and just, he is a poster child for a folk hero. He is loyal and kind but, he knows his enemies and the threat they pose to the people. Deeply religious. Skills:

Shieldsman - Master: The Guardian of the People, taught from a early age to take a punch and hold on to every inch of ground.
Spearman - Expert: Every warrior must learn how to kill, held land means nothing if enemies still live .
Cooking - Journeyman: Whether in grand crusades or transporting renegades, a mans gotta eat, an army marches on its stomach, and there are a lot of men in the army.
Sewing - Apprentice: A man must know how to mend torn cloth and hide.
Cleaning - Apprentice: A clean barracks is a holy barracks.
Nursing/First-Aid - Novice: "Eat your chicken soup friend, lest you waste away to the winter."
Riding - Novice: "A true man marches with his men, but the horses- they are cute, no?"
Flaws:

Naive - Unwavering resolve and blind loyalty makes one unable to truly see behind the masks of men.
Unlearned - Rural boy? Temple soldier? Lifetime of war? Yeah... no books or teachers on advanced subjects here.
Uncouth - Life as a warrior leaves manners to be desired for.
Superstituous- The god's are to be revered, and loved, but mostly feared.
Afraid of Heights - Big man + big fall = big crater
Slow - Cumbersome armor is not good for cross country or distanced battles.
Fear of Rot - The honor of battle is fine, but the consequences of victory and defeat put a toll on Dieter. He is easily revolted and disgusted at the sight of decaying bodies.
Unadaptive - Trained to be front-line shock infantry, nothing else. Theres little need to think for yourself when a head priest yells orders at you.
Magic Spells: His Temple friends taught him simple healing spells, they can't mend bone, stich gaping wounds or cure diseases, but they're something. That something would be along the lines of healing minor cuts and bruises. Abilities: Bulwark of the Faith Through thick or thin, through fire or frost. Through hell and high water, nothing gets past Dieter and his shield as he remains breathing. Heart of an Ox A thick skin and a thick skull will get you far, but it is a warrior's undying will to live and protect that keeps him standing amidst his allies through even the most arduous and prolonged battles. Backstory: A farmer's child Dieter has known both the hardships and joys of rural life. He was the 5th son of a very large and loving family(7 boys, 9 girls), and each child was given a choice on how they wish to live their lives. Some continued to be farmers, others worked to attend schools and academies. Some others became merchants and guards, riding the caravans to lands such as Negotia. However Dieter and his Older brother Ribald, wanted to serve the faith. Not just as priests and monks but to be the sword and shield of their gods. They left for a nearby Temple of Analil learning her teachings and faith. Of course as Paladins they were expected to learn the martial arts, and so they did. Life as a paladin was humble and meager, sworn to an oath of poverty, this temple served to better the lives of the devout. However the ides of peace did not last long, a holy crusade was called and Dieter and his brother were one of the first sent. They fought the foreign devils and demons with their heretic beliefs, watching each others' back. The two soon earned a name among the barracks: The Sword and Shield of Analil. Fleet and agile Ribald struck down their enemies, while stout and stalwart Dieter safeguarded his allies. The crusade drew to a close, the two optimistic about their service to their peoples. However, mighty Jergal always wove a complex tapestry. A year after returning to their homeland, a great plague engulfed the land taking any and all. Peasants, nobles, war heroes; the Plague did not discriminate. Ribald had been afflicted while tending to the sick and would die shortly after, but he made Dieter promise never to blame the gods, that mortals live a short life. Dieter must maintain his kind heart and continue to help the needy. Who was Dieter to deny a dying brother?
I'll join any applicable(and willing) nation. Whoa, woops. There's a knight already in them there OOC, I honestly didn't see it, and it has similar themes. Hopefully personality and background are different enough.
