OOC
Summary
We will be playing a group of young Superhumans in America in a time when Superhumans are hunted and imprisoned by the government. Our characters will be facing certain death, but will be given the chance to flee America to a Caribbean island owned by a billionaire who wishes to fight the oppression of the government and to train you as his elite taskforce to bring the downfall of the government's dark operations. Our characters will train together to eventually combat the government as a team. The first part/chapter of this RP will revolve around training on this island and establishing relationships with one another. Don't think of this as a generic school RP as there will be development, but there will be themes of that.
Backstory
We live in a world with Superhumans. Granted, there are not many. Perhaps only a few hundred. But they exist. The government is trying to get rid of them, but what they clearly don't see is that they can't be prevented. It's the next step in human evolution.
The first Superhumans were found by the Government in the late 90s. They were subsequently locked up in a research facility and never let out. That's what the government has always done to deal with them. It worked for a while, but now there are hundreds of them out there, living their lives, trying to pretend that they are normal. It's a surprise that nobody has gone public yet and told the world about their powers. Maybe that's just how good the government are at keeping the peace.
For years the government have worked away at finding out how to hunt down these Superhumans. And they've finally found it. A "defect" that can be found in the blood. Everyone with powers has it. Some without powers have it too. But the government aren't going to take any chances. Two weeks ago they took nation-wide mandatory blood tests, and rest assured, they are going to hunt down, kill or kidnap every single person who tests positive for that defect.
You're one of those who tested positive. You're young. You still attend school, or college. You may have recently discovered your power, or it could have been with you for years. Either way, come next week when the test results have been fully checked through, you'll be on the government's hit list.
But your fate is not to die now. Or to live out your days in a laboratory. You have a chance to live. But it won't be the life you were hoping for.
