Perhaps the story could take place where the show left off. The academy had beaten the keeshan, but little did they know that a greater evil exists.

yeah, see good Idea, maybe like a super keeshan, or an all out attack by the witches. I am very open to suggestions?

Maybe there is an army of witches who have been hiding a keeshan, building his power slowly in hopes that one day they could rule the land. And while Maka and friends are off being social and relaxing, the world is growing even more mad.

Well Maka turned out to be a death scythe, but we could do doubles. And we could do a few new characters just so we could have new weapons and personality.

just throwing out an idea here :O

instead of taking off after the end, how about change it a bit? perhaps keeshan managed to take out maka and everyone else out of sheer luck before he perished. Lord Death has fallen and Death the Kid is down and in serious need of healing. Some of the lower students (aka the grey students XD) start to stand out as they try to help and defeat the newer keeshan that the witches let slip that they are attempting to create. (perhaps vector still managed to survive XD)
