There's some immersion to be gained from being like 'I have to save the princess [i]*right the fuck now*[/i], in some cases. Like if you're playing Skyrim you can win every fight by hiding and waiting for the engine to give you your sneak bonus back -- or you can be a champ and be like "I AIN'T HIDING BITCH COME AT ME" and just run in there with your axe and mickey-mantle some fucking orcs.
