[@ViolentViolet] The catch is, words have all the abilities of their definitions (found on http://dictionary.reference.com/). So while maybe your character will be using it primarily to become transparent or untouchable, your character is capable of using it otherwise. In addition, words like doppelganger will not allow characters who become others to use their words (must be in place or RP will be a wreck). Words cannot interact directly with other words, so a word like 'disappear' would not be able to erase someone's word power. And a word like 'change' would not allow the character to use someone else's word if they become that person. Although, looking at the definitions for doopelganger and mimic, you might be better off using mimic since doppelganger is only capable or creating "a ghostly double or counterpart of a living person" (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/doppelganger vs. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/mimic?s=t). The only limitation on fade is that the range of which you use it directly on other people would be reduced.
