I was thinking more some kind of knockout or sleeping gas which could've been produced by Patch using antidepressants, anti-deliriums or benzilic acid (which could be produced from alcohol in the right conditions.) If he's been producing recreational drugs then he'd certainly have the chemical knowhow to produce any number of disabling chemicals which could be used.

In an enclosed environment the gas would take out at least a couple of the guards, as well as providing cover for Team Sneaky-Sneaky-Boom to get out of there. They may even get lucky and manage to take out all the guards in the confusion.
