His quiet nature hid the stresses he was under though; work piling up, patients who deteriorated no matter what he did, it all got to him slowly. Then one day he found a spell that would supposedly bless his hands with the ability to heal anything. He attempted the ritual, only for it to go bad, obviously. He was taken over by a demon and he ripped himself apart in his own home. Much, much later he awoke in the Dark City.
