The Land of Shimmering Fates is dying.

A world once embedded in ancient tradition makes way for the roaring age of industrial steam-powered machinery.

Prime Minister Lei has ousted the Emperor's control over the land, establishing the Republic of Daozen in its stead. His army of war machines scour the territories, destroying magical artifacts and scrolls of the past. Their numbers are vast and overwhelming, but not everyone will go quietly into the night...

The Golden Masters of The Iron Gate represent the Elite Schools of Martial Combat, the last bastion of hope against the unrelenting machine hellbent on erasing the past. The Annual Battle Tournament at Secret Cove is underway. It is the perfect opportunity for them to recruit the best in order to take on the gargantuan task of reclaiming their dying culture.

These Masters stand firm, not just as guardians of tradition, but as saviors of a world unknowingly blind to the real underlying threat at hand. Should Prime Minister Lei succeed at ridding all of the magical relics in the land, then there will be far more worse things to worry about than mortal tyrants....

This is all I have so far. I'm looking to keep the lore open for people to hopefully contribute.

The Rundown:

-Steampunk in a Wuxia-type setting
-Magic and firearms will be present in this RP
-To keep things contained, we'll be on the side of The Golden Masters.
-Fantasy races will be allowed.
-I may need a CO-GM as my schedule gets hectic at times.

I think this is kind of a nifty idea. Reminds me a bit of Jade Dynasty as well. Color me interested... then again I'm a martist IRL and into wuxia a bit so what do I know? (also into steampunk as well)

Was meaning Jade Empire not Jade Dynasty. Oops. I haven't played Jade Dynasty.

One can only hope that Bioware tackles that franchise again and soon.

Few quick questios:

I am making my guy not from the area. Like he is not a native to the land but eventually learns to fight from the Masters. Is that okay?

Also is human allowed?

Name: Lee Mitas
Age: 21

Race: Human

Fighting Style: It is called Strong Mantis style. ((Not the final name)) His style is mainly offensive since it focuses on strong and quick strikes and grabs. He focuses on striking his opponent in anyway he can or throwing them off balance. It does not really have any use for weapons but he does use his Chi to make his punches stronger. He has to meditate to really get as much strength as he can.

Weaknesses: His style is very close combat. He has to be in close to do the most damage. Also since he is neither a master in being fast or strong this can cause issues if someone is better at either than he is.

Weapons: His main weapon is his gloves. They keep his hands safe and add a bit more damage to his strikes. He does not have any other weapons. He does keep a few brews in his pack to try and help his powers and his chi.

History: Lee is not a local in the area. He was not even born close to the area. Lee Mitas was born in the Trade Cities of Celonia. His parents were both spice merchants who traded in the area. When Lee was 16 his parents decided to take him on one of their spice trips. Lee was so excited to go but it would not be all that great because a storm moved in and sunk the airship while at sea. Lee barely made it to the shore by himself. He was found by a troll who decoded to teach the boy how to fight like the troll did. Lee learned how to fight in the middle of the ruins of an old temple. Lee learned about the area and how to fit in. Eventually he decided to leave the area and start to travel. He heard that the Annual Battle Tournament was happening at Secret Cove so he decided to get involved. He loved a good fight.

Age: 22
Race: He's a mixture of Elf and Man.

Fighting Style: Shen's fighting style is centered mainly around offense, in close-to-mid ranged combat. The fighting style is centered around his inherited sword, Kazehane, which he can call upon by merely speaking it's name. It's flowing, razor-sharp moves, enhanced with visible scythes and blasts of wind magic. It's defense comes from parrying, and acrobatic maneuvers to dodge. Unarmed, the style is much the same way.
Weaknesses: The style is made to quickly overwhelm and keep the flow of the battle in Shen-Li's favour. The 'weakness' is fighting someone with a similar style to his own. They will have a struggle for the flow.
Weapons: Kazehane - Refer to image. It's inherited to his family, and thusly, it is his own blade. It can telekinetically be called to him by only speaking it's name, and it amplifies, Shen-Li's natural wind magic.

I like what I see so far! Currently working on map locations. I'm going to try and get as much done tonight and hopefully have an OOC up by tomorrow afternoon.
