Tabitha Birthday is on June 10th!

So this morning I (regretting this decision) ate a box of Sour Patch Kids. Ever since, I have a 'burning sensation' on the back of my tongue whenever I try to eat something. I don't have any allergies that I know of, but maybe I'm now allergic to artificial sourness?

Has anyone else had an experience like this? Also, any ideas on how to make it so I can eat without my tongue hurting like hell?

I've tried brushing my tongue, with and without toothpaste, gurgling water on it, eating ice cream (which helped it numb a bit but its fully back now). It's been seven and a half hours since I've eaten the Sour Patch Kids.

It's driving me insane.

Help.

Not an allergy. Eating that much sour has fucked with your tastebuds, that's all. Back when I was little it used to be a tactic we used when we absolutely *had* to eat something gross that someone was cooking -- slam a few Atomic Warheads and the taste of squash pudding was replaced with a pleasant burning-to-death sensation.

It goes away eventually. You might have funny taste buds for a few days.... I wanna say you can help speed up the recovery by drinking milk, something about acids and bases or whatever. Not sure. The main thing is you're not dying.

I had some hot coffee and my tongue was all irritated afterwards. Am I allergic?

EDIT: Really hot coffee.

I hear potato chips of all things sometimes help, but that might be me mixing up my "Oh my God what did I do to my mouth" fixes. Milk probably works.

You can cure this by eating hot colds. It's an old indian remedy but it totally works.

I once licked a leaky AAA battery when I was a kid and it stung my tongue.

So don't do that either.
