Regardless, in a fight between two equals, trying to catch a surprise low-kick (to the knee, not even the upper thigh) is both difficult and dangerous.

You also didn't have your character check the kick in any fashion with his leg, so only his hands are stopping the force of Fury's kick, kicks beat hands most of the time.

I also quite clearly said 'easily' because everything about your post suggested nonchalant as fuck defense.
