Hm, I've gotten a little further in surprisingly little time on Aaron's possible motivation. He's a closeted homosexual man with a hebrew first name in Nazi Germany, one would think he has enough suspicion and pressure on him as it is. I'd say he fears that defecting would be the final nail in his coffin and that they'd send him to a concentration camp? Regardless of whether or not his fears would be fixed in truth, I'd say that's enough to make a man want to save his own skin. Thoughts, anyone?

If they were seizing the lab equipment and getting rid of the scientists, then there would be no one left to need his doctor skills (unless they were gonna keep monitoring the scientists in isolation or something in which case nevermind) so they decide to ship him off to a camp and ros hears this when she hears about the lab closing? Would he defect if she told him they didn't need him and were going to kill him? Doesn't seem like he'd have any other option...

You could, or you could just make their relationship apparent in the next post when the SS officer comes the lab and intimidates them all.
Klaus definitely has no idea Aaron and Mat are involved, because he's a) mildly autistic and can't read people and b) Aaron and Mat would be low key as hell to avoid arrest.

Józef is pretty awesome.

Also, the attention to historical detail in everyone's posts so far is just fantastic and keeping me on my toes (read: my family is bewildered and a little worried by my sudden interest in Nazi death camps), so well done all.

@Keyguyperson: do you think Klaus should notice Józef at the diner or nah?

I googled "Polish racial slurs for Germans" to be prepared.

Also, I'm loving these ideas for Aaron and Mat. When/if Józef realizes that they're gay it'll be fun writing from his point of view. Being Catholic up until now, he'll be trying to choose between his old views and considering the relationship wrong or ending up accepting homosexuality because the Nazis oppose it.
