@Adriane, Ros will be defecting with Klaus, yeah? Even though it goes against her entire job description? XD

What Kierke said, plus her main/only motivation for what she does is her parents (and a love of language and making people happy but that's benefits) and she's about to find out some life-changing information, plus her biggest personality trait is that she follows her heart over the smarter decisions/cares more about people than work and she's also about to come to some realizations about Klaus, so when it happens it really won't be a big surprise she defects to go with Klaus and keep him safe than stay with the Nazi party.

Also I don't know if Mat and Aaron would risk living together UNLESS they found each other as roommates and then the romance started??? Just an idea

Ros might be weird about it but not extremely, simply because she would have the Nazi party disgust for homosexuality drilled into her brain, but without it she would definitely have the idea of letting people love who they love and staying out of other people's business if it doesn't concern her, plus she'd grow to like Mat and Aaron both and that would matter more than what they're doing together so she would probably just be a bit uncomfortable for a while.

Would Aaron and Mat take the risk of living together, though?

That's what I'm trying to decide. I figure they could probably easily hide it from the general public, I mean is it so uncommon for two people who work in the same place to room together? It's a money saver as well, and they're both likely still paying for their education and whatnot. Then of course, this is also a time when people are even more suspicious and ignorant than normal, so it could be deemed too dangerous. Of course, the General would see straight through it.

Also, how should the General have figured out Aaron's gayness? Did he put two and two together? Walk in on something he shouldn't have? In any case, I'd love to play through whatever discovery that was in a flashback type fiasco.

I'm brainstorming things for them to argue about at the bar.

Klaus will start openly speculating whether they should even be continuing this research using Nazi funding. Aaron, I think, would dislike this notion because if Klaus quits, his own skin is on the line because of what Genzken knows.

Aaron would probably argue it when he's sober and agree once he has a few into him. I might get him drunk.

Oh! This leads me to an important realization I had today: Mathis bursts into flame, Aaron goes terrifying, and Klaus floats things. None of them have any control whatsoever over these powers in the first place, let alone when alcohol is involved. Even totally sober, I would think that they would at least try to avoid public places whenever they can, to avoid having an episode in public. Where do we stand here? Going out in public seems like a big risk. I don't know about your guys, but Aaron has very frequent episodes.

I like the way you think, Adriane. Besides, that'd probably be the only way they'd find out the other was gay. I'd say under any other circumstances they'd be too afraid to admit it in case the other wanted to report them.

He could have come in for a surprise visit to the lab and caught them flirting or kissing or the like and then called Aaron into his office and been like "i know and I'm using it against you so buckle up you're on the train to hell"
Or paid a house call or something
I don't think they'd be public enough for him to pick it up

Also they could tell Aaron to wear a really big coat? Like jokingly but he probably has a nice big coat to cover most of his body save his head, plus it's winter so bundle up? They probably go out so rarely for this that they're willing to chance a night, I'd say
But not my characters, and it is a good point

This is true. Perhaps they go get a handle of vodka and park out in someone's apartment, or in one of the faculty lounges that, you know, doesn't have dangerous explosive equipment in it.

Klaus's episodes are not as frequent as Aaron's are, so he's usually fine going out to places like the cafe, (obvious exception being the last post.)

This scene is a lot better in a public bar, though.

How's this- Klaus and Mat's symptoms are infrequent enough that they're willing to risk it. Aaron, they stuff in a large winter coat and a scarf, and since it's snowing outside, and it's a dark bar, they don't think anyone will realize.

Now, if the discussion gets heated and Mat ends up setting something on fire, that would be a great plot device...

EDIT: and, come on. they've been cooped up in that lab for months. they're dying to get out, especially after the day they've had. I'd say it's not out of character for them to take the chance.

Sounds perfectly reasonable. Of course, that is if no one feels like fleeing the bar in a fearful drunken scurry. Oh, the possibilities here.

Also a good suggestion. Also, "I know and I'm using it against you so buckle up you're on the train to hell" made me laugh harder than I should have.

Yeah, I like that. And I LOVE the idea of Mat being hauled off by police for setting something on fire. It's too early to have him killed, but a night in jail would be enough to make Aaron panic. I also see everyone else in the lab being confused, because they don't know how much Mathis and Aaron have to fear.

It's settled then.

One freakish magical bar fight, coming to theaters near you.

These website failures are terrifying me.

Never fear, everyone, I've saved the entire IC thread in a txt file.

Ah, so THAT'S why I didn't check the thread before turning off my computer.

A bit late to the party, but Józef will be okay with the gayness. His Catholic upbringing and his absolute and total hate of the Nazis will clash as he tries to decide just how he feels about it all, but he'll eventually decide that there's nothing wrong with it since he's atheist now. Also the whole "Nazis don't like it so it must be good" thing he has going on.

Also, I could have Józef summon something in the bar, just for added chaos. Maybe even something like a Błyskawica, if only to make people question his identity.

I had figured that Józef would be the least conspicuous, since even if he does summon something it could be written off by witnesses as sleight of hand. Then again, if it's something very large and incriminating, that could spell disaster.

I suppose he has a hell of a lot to be paranoid about eh?

Would it work if Konrad met Aaron whilst recovering in Berlin, and so was introduced to the university as a volunteer through that?

Makes sense to me. They would have sent Aaron around to nearby hospitals to recruit a lab assistant after half the faculty got cut from Humboldt anyways.

I also mentioned he did a short residency in a military hospital, and that his residency recently ended. Sounds perfectly good to me ^_^

It'd probably give him an excuse to drag Konrad along to the pub, too.

Just to give you guys a heads up I'm going away on Friday with some friends and won't be back until Sunday night, so I might be around in the OOC a little but not often and I won't be able to post IC. I have some stuff written for her I'm just not sure where you guys will be IC when I'm gone so Kierke's gonna cover for me and post it or just play Ros if needed because he's the real MVP.

Kierkegaard is the best but also the literal worst person to give a plot to because he will turn it and twist it until he rips your heartstrings out but he'll do it with a gentle hand and make the plot so horribly wonderful you cannot pass it up and it's a sick talent but it's a truly amazing one.
