South End- the Bakery
The doe's eyes widened and it whipped its head out of the bakery window- just as the baker walked in. The man was covered in flour and he smelled of cinnamon. He looked down at his son and then at the ranger- who stood in the room alone. He noted the half eaten baguette on the floor and the baker narrowed his eyes at Farrest, "You're going to have to pay for that, Farrest." The ranger sighed and snagged some coppers out of his coat, tossed it to the baker, only to dash out eithout another word. He ran to where the doe and his son were- and there he found Aldric struggling to hold down one of the does legs at it began to tug away frantically. He feared that the frightened thing would buck his boy in the face- so the ranger held up the sunflower for the doe to see. His tone was soothing and calm as he spoke to it, "Shh shh- there now- calm down girl." He held the sunflower out to her, "Calm down." With his free hand he unhooked another lasso from his belt and with a quick flick of the wrist managed to get the noose around her neck. A sharp tug tightened the knot- they had her. But the doe was still frantic. It began cycling through voices as cried out, "You're going to have to pay for that, Farrest." Over and over. The ranger shot his son a look. "Alright. I'm disturbed. Lets lead her out of here before I get nightmares." He nodded in the direction of the forest so Aldric could lead them there.
