[@Lugia] If I may express my opinion, I'm not sure I understand the reasoning. Pokemon buy and sell goods, ergo they must buy and sell raw materials, which must be transported en mass at some point along the supply chain. This type of transportation, at a technology level like has been displayed as far as I'm aware, would require either carts or caravans.

Caravans are likely to require a team of multiple pokemon to pull them in most cases. Teams require overseers, e.g. drivers. The setup may be a little different - the harnessed grunts may not be considered animals and they may know exactly where they're going, but whether the guy in charge is called a "Driver" or something else seems to me largely a matter of semantics!
