To answer your question, nomadic means that they move around from place to place. Sedentary means to live in one area and not move out of that singular area. The question is asking if your character moves around(nomadic) or if they have set up a base(sedentary). An easy way to remember their meanings would be to thing of the hunter-gatherer society types where they move from place to place staying only long enough to harvest what they can before moving on. An agricultural society, on the other hand, would be sedentary and rely on what they can hunt in the area around them and what they can harvest from their crops.
