Nodah Listig Nodah nodded at Leval’s goodbye, and inclined his head to Reas indicating his own will to depart. Taking the portal – still a lurching experience but each turn invited him to dry-heave less – he found himself in the training hall. It was just like the rest of Rosewood: lavish and over-the-top, with a high ceiling that loomed over them and windows lining the walls serving their decorative purpose. He spotted the two demons with their pale hair and he loped towards Zephyr, slipping soundlessly onto the bench next to him. “The morn began most chaotically,” he began conversationally, turning to the seven-foot demon and staring at his dark eyes. Nodah could feel his own eyes begin to take on the colour he saw before him. Ink swirled in blue, turning hazel before reflecting the tone of a raven’s feather. “May it not be a harbinger of the rest of the day to come.” Nodah averted his eyes for a few seconds to look up at the ceiling, before they flitted back to Zephyr. “You disappeared as the rest of us broke fast. Where did you go? Along with Desdemona? Were you aggravated? You drew her from the hall in a manner that would suggest.” At that, Nodah shook his head, and smiled at his knees. “Forgive me. A human gets curious. It’s one of the lifelong quirks of our species. We ask too many questions, but do not form enough answers, so we seek too many of those too.” He glanced at Zephyr, offering a smile that was sheepish and wry in equal parts.
