[@Rockette] Well I'm assuming that Santa Somabra is akin to, say, San Francisco, in that it's a coastal city, on the east coast of this reality's USA.

Then you factor in that it's a mob town. 1920s, liquor ban would've made bootlegging the new money making scheme. That's when organised crime would've first sprung up. Mafia families from Italy would've moved in at the time. Nyctari would've set up a presence, as well as the predecessors of the Montavanni.

Those two families would've pretty much been rivals all through the decades until now, which I'm assuming is 2015. 

Any people that worked for either family during the heyday would sure know each other.

For example, if Maharet were present during the 20s, then most likely Andy would know of her. So on and so forth.
