[@Kingfisher] So I had a lot of free time on my hands, so I thought I'd write up a location and short lore on the city itself. I felt it necessary, since we're currently map-less. I'm leaving most of the locations with very vague, simple descriptions, and not actually going into high detail about it. Leaves more room for creative freedom. What places I have gone into detail about are the places I feel require the most fleshing out. If anyone else has things to add, feel free to post. The more we have, the better.

East coast United States. Akin to San Francisco in terms of size and population density.
Divided into two main halves: Upper and Undercity.

Upper City is the upscale district. Money runs everything. Nyctari and Martovanni families reside there.
Divided into several boroughs

Greensvale
Upper Somabra
Veolia
Downtown
The Parallel.

Greensvale is the collective name for the suburbs outside of the city. Here homeowners are generally relaxed, friendly and jovial, in stark comparison to their city counterparts. Though many here work in the city, some run their own small businesses within the borough too. There is very little crime here but what little goes on normally shocks the community. The residents here vary, from humans to elves, even to some well-to-do werewolves and ogres.

The upper section of the city serves as a more upscale residential area, with lots of apartments and condominiums. Fame and fortune make their home here, as many famous people reside here, from prominent politicians, musicians, to actors, private contractors and the like. What crime does take place here is usually prominent; as several of this gated community are embroiled within Somabra's crime network, news spreads quickly, and rumours even quicker.

A stark contrast to the rest of the city, Veolia is a primarily Elf populated neighbourhood, and it shows in their architecture. A seamless blend of early Victorian building style with natural flora, the elves that make up the vast majority of Veolia are well versed in the art of making pretty, pretty things. However, as much as they like to keep things clean and green, Veolia is also home to several particularly dirty elves. Faefolk that have their hands dirty in the network of illicit activity that runs beneath the surface of Santa Somabra. Some rumours even abound that the Reapers use several buildings within Veolia as their base of operations; after all, who would suspect that such a major gang would use a peaceful area as their home? None of these rumours have been proven, however. Mayhaps the Reapers are extremely careful in hiding their secrets.

Perhaps the shiniest portion of Santa Somabra, Downtown is the city's business district. Nearly anything can be found here, as is the case of "you want it we got it" that abounds here. Downtown holds two key locations: the Market and the Strip. The former is a huge marketplace, spanning two whole city blocks, and is absolutely filled with food, various wares, antiquities, what have you. The latter is Downtown's main entertainment district, housing movie theaters, opera houses, eateries, the Santa Somabra Sports Stadium and several clubs, of both the flesh-selling and regular variety. What most folk don't tell you is that Downtown is also the dirtiest borough of the Upper City. Here, Runez and Fairy Dust are commonplace, with the Reapers and Nyte Kings maintaining a very heavy presence in the area. Sleaze and prostitution are rampant, and it is also common knowledge that both the Nyctari and Martovanni families have a strong foothold here too. The four factions compete for turf, money and bragging rights to owning some key locations within the Downtown area, mostly within the Strip. What is agreed upon is that the Market is a completely neutral ground; only negotiations and talks shall be held there, strictly no business allowed.

The aptly named Parallel is the last borough of the Upper City, and is the divide between the Upper and Undercities. Here, the separation between the rich and the poor is less common, as the mayor of the city has opted to try and bridge the gap between poverty and affluence. Crime is not as rampant here, and it is a common fact that the Parallel is and can be a home for anyone, poor and rich alike. The community here is generally friendly towards each other, though with activity from the Hunters, werewolves and vampires are not as common here.

The Undercity is the poorer district of the city. Here crime is more rampant and illegal services are more prolific.
The Undercity is also broken down into several districts, most of which are strictly secret to the residents:

Little Lupine
Diagon Alley
Haven
The Velvet Underground
Undercity Tunnels

An extremely gated community, Little Lupine is a small district within the Undercity that is comprised entirely of the city's werewolves, at least, those that are actively hiding from Hunters. Here, secrecy is key, and although the district smells like dogs, residents take big steps to ensure their secret doesn't stand out. Criminal werewolves or those that are fleeing the other parts of the city often end up here, where they are carefully slotted into their community and put into hiding. Despite this, there have been several documented cases of lone Hunters disappearing upon their discovery of the district. No substantial reports have emerged, though.

This tiny district serves as the gathering place for all beings magical within Santa Somabra. Named after that one famous place in that one movie about wizards, Diagon Alley has quickly become the absolute best place to look up magical relics and spells in the city. Of course, this also comes at a price, seeing as how Runez is also strong here. The Reapers have a commanding presence here, and what shopowners aren't in their pockets are in the pockets of the other crime families of Santa Somabra.

The biggest district of the Undercity, Haven is, as the name implies, a haven. Criminals, those escaping from a previous life, the dregs and washed up types of society end up here, one way or another. Known residents of this huge community include former crime bosses, corrupt politicians, drug kingpins and the like. All retired, of course, and given assured word that no trouble would ever seek them again.

This district is the most well hidden, and for good reason: this community is mainly populated by vampires. The Velvet Underground is a strictly vampire-only district that is housed and kept underground, away from the sunlight that all vampires are weak against. Business and other things are carried out well enough here, and the big-name vamps carry out business with the surface often enough to ensure steady supply of the necessities, be it food or daily living items.

The abandoned flood tunnels and subway lines beneath the Undercity make a great haven for those not willing to return to the surface. Here, the undead are the most common residents, with goblins taking a second place to the rats and other vermin. The Rotfaces do not house here, unlike most believe, but the undead that don't side with that faction live here, away from prying eyes.

I really appreciate the effort put in here, and it all looks solid, but if anyone wants to do anything like this in the future then please reach out to me first. I don't mind little bits of worldbuilding, but as the GM I feel like mapping out the entire city should be something I'm a part of that. I understand the need for an city map though, which I'll get working on soon. Oh, Santa Somabra is on the west coast, as stated in the intro OOC post.
