[*] Integral ASSIST & Feedback Buffer Unit [*] A-MK VII Synthelectrocardium [*] CRYS Nanochip-Assisted Optical Lens [*] MJL Junction Latices

Due in part to Traction's past history and profile in working with Renraku, where possible her augmentations are low-profile bioware with minimal cyberware assistance. Routine biometric scans of her physiology would imply that her augmentations are only suitable for entry-level Matrix clerical work, which is useful for subverting certain security routines. All of Traction's augmentations save for one were provided by Renraku in exchange for services rendered, although she still owes the corporation a rather large debt. The E-MK XII Encephalon augmentation is a recently developed upgrade to its hardware founded predecessor, linking conventional cerebral booster bioware with a scaled-back Encephalon device. The device has had most of its core features stripped, to the point where the remainder were easily integrated with a standard datajack. The cerebral bioware now accounts for the bulk of the cognitive boost, while subroutines in the modified Encephalon datajack enhance the effect in the same manner of a conventional Encephalon device utilizing regular hardware. The cognitive boons are less pronounced than when using a fully integrated Encephalon NEXT device, but it saves on space and possesses a greatly reduced biometric profile while combining its functions with that of a datajack. The datajack itself routes its main connection through the pericardium rather than directly through the spine into the brain. This was done in order to accomodate for ASSIST cyberware and a feedback buffer installed in Traction's chest. Fulfilling the same basic role of a surge protector, the feedback buffer is a device intended to prevent and reduce the harm to a Decker affected by biofeedback due to attacks from other Deckers or Black ICE. Traction's heart has been directly augmented with filtration bioware intended to counteract toxins, while the membrane enveloping the heart has been replaced with a synthetic sac which functions as a defibrillator in the event that Traction experiences cardiac arrest. While there was some consideration over whether or not to replace Traction's eyes with complete prosthetics, it was determined doing so would create too much of a hardware-oriented vulnerability. Instead, simple microchip-operated organic crystal lens were transplanted into her eyes. They function as perfect replicas of her original lens, and also are capable of projecting holographic imagery directly into Traction's retina in conjunction with her cognitive and Decking augmentations. They are also capable of projecting a low amount of light, enabling Traction to see in otherwise darkened environments. Most curious are the augmentations made to Traction's muscle joints, which were an augmentation made prior to her subcontracting experiences with Renraku. The modification conveys no apparent benefit other than an increase in overall flexibility and motion fluidity. Investigation into Traction's late childhood within SCIRE indicates [DATA EXPUNGED]. >That is nobody's business anymore._

Traction originally came to SCIRE when she was ten as a SINless secret child of Reraku Employee [DATA EXPUNGED]. Investigation into her early years in SCIRE reveal a working relationship with the Yakuza as a [DATA EXPUNGED], likely due to [DATA EXPUNGED]. As neither the Yakuza or her parents had much time for her, when off the clock Traction was remitted to the custody of the local Humanis Policlub's commonhouse. Alongside her prior services, when she turned fifteen Traction was apprenticed to a Yakuza Decker who immediately died on the job. She was then shifted around between subcontracted Shadowmarket Deckers and Riggers of varying note for the next three years, with none of them surviving more than two months after the day of her assignment. While foul play was initially suspected, investigation has revealed that most if not all of her mentors were killed either by Renraku Matrix security or due to personal abuse of various addictions; Traction's unfortunate 'death streak' appears to have been genuinely incidental. Eventually Traction eschewed the need for a mentor and seceded from her family unit, although she retained ties with the Yakuza and continued working in their employ both in [DATA EXPUNGED] and in the Shadow market. When Traction turned twenty, they bought their debt from the Yakuza and sought legitimate employment with Renraku as a Matrix technician using a fake SIN. This was in the same year as closed-circuit rigging simsense became available, and after a four month evaluation period Traction was tapped to act as a Spider for the SCIRE Matrix. Shortly afterwards, Traction's parents and a number of mid-ranking Yakuza enforcers met with untimely and grisly accidents involving automated SCIRE systems. >Damn right they did._ Traction also continued to operate within the SCIRE and Seattle Shadow Market, although they never compromised Renraku security while doing so. She still managed to generate considerable heat with Lone Star, the Mafia, and the Yakuza. Traction was officially dismissed from Renraku Corporation and was given a generous severance package including enclosed Shadow market information, which marked the start of Traction's career as a Shadowrunner. Over the course of the last eight years, she has proved exceedingly useful as a subcontractor in assistance to the Red Samurai as evidenced by the extensive bioware augmentations the corporation procured for her benefit. [DATA EXPUNGED]. >I am still grateful for everything. I am not cutting and running because I want to. A lot of bad shit has been going on in Seattle for a long time now, and its been building up. Not just in the streets, but in the Matrix too. Something massive and bad is coming. Don O'Malley's assassination is just the latest nail in the coffin. I am getting the hell out of dodge before the entire city burns to the ground. I will send regular payments in order to cover my existing debt, but otherwise consider our professional relationship finished._

Traction's family life was always particularly tense, rife with emotional abuse and neglect. Both of her parents rejected her due to events preceding their move to SCIRE. Traction therefore has some commitment issues and trouble forming stable relationships of any kind. She did not have any noteworthy friends at the time of her employment, and she has kept all of her relationships strictly professional as far as can be discerned. The continuous deaths of every mentor and parent figure in her late teenage years coupled with her family life would indicate difficulty in forming stable relationships and building trust. In a related area, Traction has a fascination with physical documentation and agreements, something which she constantly requested from Renraku while in our employ. An unusual habit in a digital age; the need for physical agreements that cannot be altered after drafting would indicate a deeply ingrained amount of suspicion and general paranoia. Although only touched upon in her history, Traction spent the better part of her adolescence living in a Humanis Policlub commonhouse for lack of anyplace better to stay. Her continued work with the Red Samurai has raised the possibility that Traction may harbor concealed sympathies pertaining to Human Supremacy. Testing and observations of her interactions and behavior with non-Human metatypes has failed to reveal any overt racist tendencies, although she appears to possess some innate resentment and jealousy pertaining to the extended longevity of elves. Her exposure to both Dwarves and Trolls is limited due to their relatively small Seattle population, and so there remains the possibility that she may possess heretothough unknown Supremacist and/or racist sympathies. Due to her extensive work as [DATA EXPUNGED], Decker, Rigger, and Spider in further consideration to her access of UV-grade Simsense technology, it is no surprise that Traction possesses a BTL Habit. Due to her meticulous discretion, the nature of the Simense programs she regularly utilizes are unknown. She appears to possess an appropriate level of awareness regarding the habit, and only engages in Simsense submersion when off the clock or when waiting for code to compile. Testing had indicated she possesses a firm grounding in objective reality; the primary concern of her addiction is that it may affect her cognitive augmentations due to imbalanced neurochemistry. Traction appears to be highly self-conscious and awkward in regards to her own actions. She suffers from high levels of anxiety when shopping in public or when making use of public utilities. Whenever possible, Traction prefers to utilize the Matrix for personal transactions. An extended tenure in [DATA EXPUNGED] a utilitarian outlook of most social behaviors and [DATA EXPUNGED] assumes the worst from the outset. Traction has historically never performed well in the long term when operating as part of a Shadowrunner team. While she is an exceptional Decker, she appears to possess little value for the lives of her teammates, viewing them as disposable pawns. Traction is directly responsible for selling out at least two Shadowrunner outfits she was a member of in the past. A comprehensive analysis of her actions reveals that she always presumes the worst possible outcome of any operation and plans contingencies for all eventualities, behaving as though the death of her partners was an inevitability. While her thorough preparation in this regard has served many other Runners well due to her ability to cover for their shortcomings, it has also unnecessarily compromised several Runners of note due to Traction acting in her own personal best interest. Specifically, captured and debriefed Runners conveyed that they had been expecting Traction to plan for any possibility of failure on their part, only to discover that Traction had instead deliberately planned for them to fail in order to reduce her own personal risk.

Modified Fairlight Cyberdeck: It's hard to determine which is more unbelievable. That Traction jacks using an actual Fairlight Excalibur, or that she has actually modified it. The hardware and augs she's welded onto the thing have rough, unpolished metal casing that clashes severely with the trimmed and elegant purity of the pearlescent Fairlight ceramic. You can't even tell what half the stuff does, but you can bet that it has all sorts of nasty surprises the factory model didn't. Ares Apex Smartlink SMG: Less of a surprise than the Fairlight, but still impressive. This is Ares' top of the line submachine gun. Traction can use her datajack with the smartlink in order to obtain loads of useful spatial data using the weapon's various add-ons. It's compact, easy to use in close-quarters, and most accurate at moderate range. From what you've seen, Traction has zero compunction about going full-auto with it on anybody who gets too close during runs. Wallmaster: This looks like a custom-made Riiger drone. Traction owns a set of schematics for it and from what you've seen she has it built by technicians, so she isn't familiar with its actual workings. It's a small, fist-sized autogyro. It looks a little like a hoverdrone, with only one pair of of blades. Its profile is almost as small as an old drive-disc, and it barely makes any noise. You can definitely hear it within a few feet as a low hum, but otherwise the thing barely whispers when in flight. It has a mounted camera, vacuum-cups for adhering to surfaces, and acts as a wireless signal relay and mediator for Matrix networks. Traction uses it for scouting, discrete remote Decking*, and it apparently also supplements the Smartlink for her SMG. In a firefight it usually just hovers in a corner somewhere and provides telemetry data. You've seen Traction literally shoot blind around corners using it and her smartlink. *Apparently Traction's options are more limited when she isn't physically jacked in to the Matrix - something about her 'icon' not being present. This limits her options, but it also means her brain can't be cooked by ICE.

John Bishop: Someone has been a bad boy. For a Shadowrunner this guy is incredibly high-profile. Just dropping his name in the Matrix pings about every law enforcement and private security corporation and outfit in the county, especially Ares. Digging a little deeper shows a number of ongoing investigations with implications and dangling threads that indicate people know he's in Chicago. Might prove useful as a distraction if sold out during a run, let every goon with a gun in the city chase him while the rest of the team breaks away. Might be dangerous if we keep him for too long. *Traction seems more worried about Bishop's heat than anything else, to the point she barely even sees him for his skill and talents. Rei Reido: Obviously and boringly damaged goods. Likes her painkillers, might backfire if she takes anything that's been laced with Nitro or Tempo. No presence whatsoever in the Matrix, which is a relief. Her cybereyes might be a point of vulnerability if her Biomonitor was used as a connection. Need to make sure somebody keeps an eye on her so she doesn't sell herself for painkillers and then wake up with all her metal yanked out. *Traction seems focused on covering Rei's vulnerabilities, but is dismissive of her apparent trauma. Manuela Garcia: Because when I think 'discrete,' I immediately get the bright idea to tote around an animal shelter entourage. The magic is useful. The fanaticism, less so. More worrisome is what happened when I tried scanning her. I found evidence of a thorough cover-up, only possible at all because of the difficulty of hiding public news reports regarding Basilisk attacks, but I couldn't find anything useful or illuminating. The thing is, when I was searching, I got pinged by another Decker. Like somebody was monitoring specifically for people looking into her. Managed to evade the trace, but it's making me anxious. Need to do some more discrete digging if we intend to keep her, otherwise it would probably be better to put her down before she decides to hold up a run by saving test animals in the next Pharma lab we raid. *Traction seems suspicious of Manuela and skeptical of her utility. Oliver Whitehead: Former decorated Marine with a recent criminal record containing only a minor misdemeanor? What an obvious setup. He may be worth stringing along to see if we can milk any milspec gear out of him, but we need him gone sooner rather than later. *Traction thinks Oliver is a government or corporate toolbox. Caewil McNamara: Little to no presence in the Matrix. Seems reserved, looks like she knows what she's doing and why she's here. Shaman magic is helpful and the absence of any major psychosis or baggage means she's probably going to have more longevity than the others. Good to know there's at least one other professional on the team. Those airs she puts on get tiring real quick though, and she smells funny. *Caewil appears to have impressed Traction despite the pheromones being filtered out by Traction's augs.
