The Night-Walkers, Population 32 (18 in Khlin, 14 in Imlona) Age of Rising Shadow, Second Night of Hidden Light (New Moon) Techs: Inter-Species Communication Method (2/4) Imlona Bolach looked to the sky, perched near the top of a tree. He saw that the horrid flame was finally fading away, that Imlona should be soon awakening. He had come this far to speak with the chief, Trixach, about the possibility of communication with the seemingly intelligent species that blunder through the sacred Homelands. Though Bolach knew that Trixarch would probably be angry at his interference on such a sacred night as this, it must be done. There is also another matter that must be discussed here, something that Bolach had been supporting for some time. The unification of the Night-Walkers, so that survival will not be hindered by division and the rule of weaker walkers. The tribe was finally rousing from slumber and preparing for the Council of Hidden Light, just as they had the night before, and they would until the sky-flame resumed its battle against the holy darkness. After climbing down to a concealed branch, he watched the villagers gather, and Trixarch take his position to begin the discussion. Bolach knew that this was the time, if he appeared before the discussions, he could make his case in front of the village, forcing Trixarch to make a decision. Now that everyone seems to have appeared, Bolach dropped from his hidden perch onto a makeshift bridge. The village was temporarily dumbstruck by the sudden appearance of the rival chief before Trixarch was able to respond. "Bolach?! What could you possibly want on a night like this? You desecrate sacred tradition!" "I come because it is time. This is the Council of Hidden Light. The people must discuss the plans of Khlin. We are to speak with those who have entered the Homelands, understand them. We must be united!" Bolach responded Trixarch furiously sounded that such a thing must not be, that these day-dwellers are agents of the flame, enemies that can be our very destruction. Bolach told the chief that if he refuses to move with the tide of progress, it will not be the "agents of flame" that end the existence of the Walkers, it will be his conservative foolishness. The ensuing argument began to spark among the villagers, with the chiefs as the center of the debate. After some time of this, Bolach stomped on the wood, silencing the debating. He fiercely turned to Trixarch and demanded "We must unite, we must learn to change, or you will be the death of us all! What is your decision?!" It was at this moment that there was a cry heard from the huts. In the confusion of Bolach's arrival, there had been one Walker who was unaccounted for. The people, investigating the sound, found that in this hut there was a female walker that was pregnant. Upon closer inspection, there was a young newborn that this female was holding in her hands. No, not one child, two. Two children. Twins. How could such a thing be? This was unheard of in either tribe, a female giving birth to two children. For the moment, the tribe forgot their disputes and fights, this was a time of rejoice, the holy darkness has given the gift of two children to them. Their names were decided after a ceremony, the female child was named Estrella, and the male Lunas.
