[@Lugia] Oh, sorry for the delay! Yes, nonpokemon animals do exist, but it's important to realize that in this world at least, the natural order does still stand in the wild places. A feral pokemon here is simply one that is born wild and WILL operate on its survival instincts. In more civilized territory, you can't just go around eating people, but there are rules that dictate what types of pokemon can be hunted for game or profit or used as "animal labor", and this can vary wildly depending on the region. 

Oh yeah, and I didn't mention it in the post, but if you're going with insults based on his reputation, it's also pretty well known that he's gay. This isn't quite a big deal here as it would be in medieval europe, but it's still something that causes issues.
