Aiden was caught off guard by the random appearance of the beast.  He didn't have enough time to react when his fishing pole, a nicely crafted one mind you, was knocked out of his hands.  It left a nasty little bruise on his knuckles, as it bled a tiny bit.  Seeing his fishing rod mistreated like that made the young Hylian so enraged that he pulled out his sword, staring at the beast face to face.  Without a moments hesitation, he thrust the blade at the creature.  More specifically, he aimed for it's big ugly head.
