Not necessarily. While the momentum might lock his feet into place, Brennus is still free to pull away the sword with his arms, and he can do so wicked quick, taking into mind the nature of his attack. 

As i see it, the strike is similar to a sabre [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p_sksiNmQk]snap cut[/url], which is powered by the elbow and wrist. See how the guy on the right attacks twice in under a second? That's a sabre cut.
