With the approach of the merchant and his drunk [i]friend,[/i] the men and women gradually became more tense, some shifting their weight or fidgeting with a sort of nervous excitement, or just excitement in general. Behind them the black dome, known as the Raikō Engai, or Lightning Dome, floated--lightning and electricity sparking from it every so often. There was no sign of movement aside from the discharges of electricity.

The four individuals suddenly raised a hand to their ears before glancing at one another and starting for one another. They were gathering together into their own little group, while some of the others taunted, insulted, and threatened the merchant and the drunk.

There were a few others, roughly 8 of them, who seemed amused, or displeased, by the antics of their allies. Nonetheless, these and the 4 individuals didn't act. However, there [I]was[/I] nonetheless great tension in the air.
