Those are fair points. I assumed he should have some sort of melee weapon in case he has to fight something that bullets are ineffective against. But I suppose it does seem silly, thinking it over. I'll just remove it, his dagger would get the job done anyway. I figure he may have picked up a enchanted dagger from one of his victims at some point. It could give him some measure of protection from magical attacks and be really difficult to break. And I didn't really explain it, but his powers were sometimes beyond his control at a young age, so every so often he would be temporarily stricken with blindness or deafness, or be unable to feel the ground beneath his feet. And he probably just blabbed about his ability to people when he was young and dumb. As he got older he learned how to turn his power on and off at will.
