"Vanessa Gavrilov, Kestrel Prototype, Launching!" the girl called out from her cock pit, accelerating out of the acceleration ramp of the station and into the open space surrounding it. "It's ok Nessy." she heard a voice come over the radio, it being her fathers. "No need to go so rough on the suit and yourself, we increased it's power output for this test flight, so you'll be under more g's than you're normally subjected to. We've also tried a new linking mechanism for the generators, so test it when you're ready." Her father said to her. The girl smiled in the suit as his transmission ended. "Alright dad." she said and weaved the high performance suit in and out of the asteroid field a bit of ways away from the station. Normally G's like this would start to make normal pilots begin to black out and red out, due to the stresses they experienced. It was nothing to Vanessa really, she handled it like a champ and pushed the gundam faster, feeling at home in the suit. "Warning Nessy, Asteroid in 900 meters, ahead on right, on intercept path with your own. Adjust course." the little blue haro fed to her from its position off to her left. She didn't need him to tell her it as she saw it and adjusted almost subconsciously, but it felt good to her that he was watching out for herself. After another five or so minutes of maneuvering, she came out of the field satisfied with the results. "Alright dad, i'm going to test the linkage now. Stand by in three.... two... one..." she said and activated the linkage. However, as soon as she flipped the switch, her gut told her something was out to get her. she immediately set about, activating all of her scanners. She had herself and haro picking through every possible sensor to determine where the danger was coming from. As she pushed the suit forwards to keep it moving, the girl found herself feeling more and more danger creeping in from all around her. "Vanessa, what's wrong, talk to me!" her father called out over the radio. "I see all the sensors in the suit going on, what's going on in there?" He asked panicking as she never panicked like this. She sat back in the seat as she shook. The gundam wasn't slowing down and nor she nor haro could stop it. "Daddy... i'm scared..." she said over the calms before a bright light flashed outwards from the gunam. Once it was gone, the kestral had disappeared and there was a small twinkling in its place. _______________________________ Vanessa hadn't blacked out, there was just a bright light and then the visual sensors filled her view with the earth. The bad news was not that funnily enough. it's that she was going rather terribly fast. She glanced at the planet, sighing a sigh of releif as she saw the mountains and greenery. "Haro... we're still at earth... i don't know what happened, but we'll burn up if we don't do something." she said as she got control of herself, trying to save her life instead of figuring out what went wrong. "Full power to the beam shield... we'll use it to absorb the heat." she said and focused on crouching behind it, angling herself with the thrusters on the kestrel properly as they began to watch the shield heat up. A nerve wracking couple of minutes later, they had airbraked hard enough that they weren't going to burn up anymore, instead, the gundam was falling at terminal velocity. "Full power to thrusters. i don't wanna become a crater on the ground now. "Aye Sir!" called our her haro now, diverting all of the available power to thrusters. she came in near one of the many mountain ranges, however, some movement and shininess caught her eyes as she came in. In fact, she was coming in directly at it. Touching down her feet on the side of a mountain, she slid down it, using a hand to start to slowly stop herself. However, it was a futile attempt as the gundam continued it's slide. "Comms lost to Station, all comms lost, no local comms except target." said Haro to her, that was something she didn't know. Finding herself not in immediate danger anymore, she smiled and found the activity being fun, enough that she activated the thrusters on her back and skid down the mountain, surfing the ground and cutting through trees with her beam emitters. Eventually, she arrived at a clearing, digging a beam emitter into the ground, she stopped herself, just as the other gundam came through the treeline. Standing tall in her Kestral, she felt something off about the pilot, not getting into a fighting stance, but none the less, she and the gundam tensed up a bit together. Red colors told her there was a good chance it was zeon, but it didn't have the usual curves that zeonic suits had. Having not been around other newtypes much if at all, she wondered if this was what char felt like, but doubted it. "Are... are you Zeon?" She said over open comms to the other suit, gripping controls tensely. "Are... are you the in/famous crimson comet? Are... you Char?" she asked, being the socially awkward person she was, she had no real clue on how to approach and interract with people.
