There are two people using a combo of alteration and destruction. Matuna is using combat magic (a fusion of both) and Korthul, the half-orc, is using both alteration and destruction (but not fusing them together, like Matuna).

Counting your bitter middle-aged man, we now have three alterists.
Plus the Prince is an alterist, so now there are four

If it bothers you, I can make the Prince purely telepathic.

I'd appreciate it if you'd all tell me what you were going to do with the alteration, then.

Seeing as he only has one field and three other people share it, I get the feelingf that he's not going to be all that unique. I guess it depends on how strong the others are at alteration. If they don't do advanced things like turn themselves invisible, petrify someone, and do other crazy shenanigans like Crompter's mastery allows, it'd be fine. But I don't think any elaborated on specifically what they do with the alteration and the extent of their abilities.

Anyways, in your description of alteration you mention conjuration and say you'll mention it later but there actually isn't a section for that. If the others turn out to use alteration for the same thing as Crompter, I may just make him a conjurer since that'd fit him equally well.

@SepticGentleman Don't forget your character can also practice on the corpses of Witchhunters.

@Cyclone In Matuna's case his type of Alteration changes the user's body for direct combat like increasing strength, hardening the skin for defense, making limbs longer to increase the attackrange or to become faster

It's not really to do with experimenting on corpses per say, though that will definitely be a thing. It's a bit more... individualized.

But...but...but I did mention conjuration later...did you read the Occult section? Conjuration is one of the Occult skills, I made that clear. I only mentioned it in my Alteration section to show how summoning (an Alteration skill) is different from occult conjuration.
The Prince is an Alterist, yes, but I'm not really RPing him, so don't worry about it. I'll only be using him sparingly, to advance the plot. My character, the one I'll be RPing as on a regular basis, is a Mystic. You'll hardly have to worry about our little Prince at all.

It's up to you if you do something different with your character, but I wouldn't. Not counting the prince, the other two are only using Alteration for combat, to supplement their destruction. Crompy should be better at alteration than both of them, and he'll know more about it.

By the way, I put up a CS for the Prince just now.

@Cyclone
Here is where I defined conjuration, just a few paragraphs later:

As for conjuration: when one has worshiped demons from other realms for many long years, they might find themselves gifted with forbidden knowledge. Conjuration is not the only secret they may learn from the Masters of Evil, but it is the most notable: it allows the summoning of demonic servants. As one learns, they will go from calling upon simple imps and hell-bats, to bring about the chaos of hulking battle creatures and world-destroying monstrosities. The best part is...the fiends are unable to break themselves away from the Occultist's grasp.

So I'm guessing the Prince's plan is to turn our characters all powerful mages in their own right into his loyal followers.

Oh, I mostly glossed over the other sections and didn't realize that the demon summoning was called conjuration.

I'll keep Crompter the same because to rework him would be a pain and the way that he uses alteration seems different enough.

Ya, I tried to stress that everyone needs to read all the sections in detail.

If someone hasn't read the entire first post, I really don't want them posting IC at all until they do. It's needed info about the RP.

Note that the other alterists won't match anyone who is purely alterist.

I'll get around to that and looking through the entire character section before I do post, but I've only glossed over it so far. I haven't had that much time the past two or three days if my sudden spike of inactivity in the other RPs we have together hasn't said as much.

But I should be able to manage taking on this RP and find more time in the coming
days. On this topic though, my first IC post might take a day or two from now. I recall you saying that you'd wait but if I take forever there's no need to. I'd just say that Crompter showed up late because he travels slow and took his time getting to the tower.

I still claim that Mystics are the best EVAH, and there is nothing you inferior wizards may do to change my mind.
