I always thought that it was the battlecry, much like 'Avengers Assemble', or 'Autobots, Roll Out'. 

In theory their supposed to be a close knit unit, developing battle unity and relationships that would see them one day becoming a more powerful League than their mentors could ever hope to achieve, while also allowing them time to socialize with their peers. In practice, well, their a bunch of teenagers, aren't they? Teenagers fight, bicker and argue with each other at the drop of a hat. The interpersonal drama is part of the appeal.
