Yes, he cleared it with me in PM before joining. I gave him the choice of waiting for the next round or joining now and losing out on any XP he could've earnt in the first turn.

With the others it was the third round of what I'd planned on being a four round battle, so it made sense for them to hang on rather than joining at level 1 and not even managing to get enough XP to level up before the big fight.

And talking of the big fight, the good news is that both Brick and Flare seem to have gained quite a bit of XP in the last round, even if it was at everyone else's expense. XD
