I have a question about the post: I am not sure Billy's appropriate reaction to a person who can not only perform the complex magic to stop their torso getting halfway turned into a unicorn, but also reacted fast enough to a probably unexpected piece of technology with enough foresight to cast three transfigurations on small targets that will only be in flight for ~.01 seconds. Is this a normal feat to be able to perform? If so, wouldn't Blackwell know that and not chastise Billy, and if not, how out of the ordinary is it, is it enough for Billy to be surprised/shocked/mystified? Would Billy also be shocked, depending on the answer to the previous question, that a person with such [potentially] prodigious reaction times did not transform Blackwell into a Blackwell-sized pile of cheese or something? Could my character perform such impressive feats? Also, can transfiguration rob things of their speed? Also, I know there is no way for me to change Billy's or actions to reflect an understanding that this result may happen, but I could use some help figuring out an explanation for his frankly stunning ignorance [assuming his opponent's reaction is normal]. Maybe American isolationism? I could change his history slightly so that he has never actually fought in a battle or training exercise, or find some explanation like 'soviet soliders cannot cast transfigurations'.
Perhaps it wasn't clear Blackwell was the guy that transfigured them into raindrops hence why your opponent looked round...your opponent was completely screwed by the move and would have died but Blackwell possibly knowing more about your tactics and possibly trained to prevent by yourself reacted to prevent a kill which is not the aurors way. Hence blackwells chastisement. That is also the reason I had him knock the guy on his arse instead of stunning him as it is convoluted magic The transfiguration did not rob the item of its speed. Im possibly on shaky ground of the effect of a small raindrop moving at that speed but if we consider for arguments sake that the raindrops caused 3 pretty deep bruises on his rib cage. Transiguration is a tough subject. I think we just have to use our discretion. Do you feel that is fair?
