The drive home from the Department was always a long one. Captain Brown took a short drag off the newport menthol pressed between his lips as he came around a curve the rear of a eighteen wheeler coming into view. His mind though was elsewhere as he considered the Jambalaya waiting on the stove at home for him. Sheryl always made the best Jambalaya. He’d be able to sit down relax and eat dinner with his wife, maybe go work on his son’s fix up car a bit. That was when the trailer in front him swung a bit, swerved the rear tires going off the road a bit. Brown pushed lightly on the brakes his eyes widening a bit as he knew that there was no way this would end well. The rear passenger side tires of the trailer blew and it dropped and rolled off the road tractor and trailer all careening down the slope on the side of the highway before coming to a stop at the bottom against a tree.
Smoke began to rise from under the hood and a orange glow began to cut away at the shadows. Captain Brown stopped immediately and jumped out of his Tahoe flipping on the bar lights atop it as he did. The red and blue flashing polluting the area in bright colored snatches of light. He ran down the hill as quick as he could stumbling and almost falling to the ground though he catches his balance and stops, and stares momentarily at the truck that was twisted together with the trailer. Though one thing was still very intact the driver’s side door. He heard a bit of scuffling inside the truck and ran climbing up the bottom of the truck now that it was on it’s side. “Sheriff’s Department! I’m here to help you!” He gets to the door and starts grabbing the handle, flames starting to lick out of the engine compartment. “Shit.” Brown growls out and starts to pull the door open. As the door flies open he sees a movement it looks like a shadow, a glint of fire across metal. There wasn’t even time for his life to flash before his eyes, before there was a flash, a tugging feeling in his head and then darkness.
Breaking news! A accident involving a semi truck after it lost control on Highway Seven has ended in a strange way! EBR Sheriff’s Department Captain Andre Brown was killed with a gunshot wound to the head by the driver during what looked like his attempt to rescue the driver. Though the driver of the vehicle has not been found the trailer was carrying sixteen women all of them either dying in the accident or burned to death! This tragedy has really struck at the heart of the Sheriff’s Department, and they have promised to get to the bottom of this. This has been Erica Hanes reporting for Channel Nine News.
Baton Rouge Louisiana, the Capital, The Chemical City, BR. Also a haven for criminal activity. A task force is being put together to hunt down whoever is running the now rising human trafficking ring. We will be that Task Force, a group of 3 to 5 detectives hunting down leads, staking out criminals, raiding criminal hideouts, checking informants, and yes the occasional gun fight. We won’t be going undercover and we won’t be sherlock holmes. We will be cops who started off on the beat and worked their way up to being Detectives, who were specifically selected for this task force based on our knowledge and expertise of the seedy underworld. That doesn’t mean you can’t have worked undercover, it just means you don’t now. This RP will be pretty serious, and with fairly mature themes. It can get gritty and grungy delving into some of the lowest of human activities. I’m looking for serious RPers, who will stick to the RP no matter what. If you don’t think you can then don’t bother applying. That being said I already have myself and one other so that narrows it down to there only being three openings for characters so grab them up quick. Things I will promise with this RP though is. It will have a deep plot, it will be dark, there will be plenty of chances to build relationships, possibly stir up some romance, though it likely won’t get to be the super lovey dovey kind, this is after a dark underworld we will be spending most of our time in. So tell me your interested if you feel like you can stick with this. It’s my baby and I want it to succeed.
