A journey through the ghostly tunnels.

With a home under constant threat and attack from outsiders, be it cunning bandits or vicious mutants, the last remaining residents of a beaten station decide it time to abandon their home and find somewhere safer to settle, deeper within the metro. But the tunnels are not so easily traversed. Between the mysterious phenomena and the living obstacles they face, is there any hope of making it through the barren world of post-apocalyptic Moscow alive?

So, is anyone up for this?! I still need to decide which station we start at. I was thinking this RP could take quite some time, be semi-realistic, have detail in characters to it - something like writing a story together, but not quite on Advanced level xD

@GeliophobHyena it is possible :)
There were americans stuck in the bombing, so it wouldn't matter ;)
Only problem is... Those who rule the cities will most likely kill you before you would even be able to enter, if you would speak to them ;)

He's right, there were many non-Russians that fled to the metro. Some discriminate against them (Neo Nazis being the most obvious), others accept them as human beings and cooperate as such.

I'm wondering if America and Russia fought each other in the nuclear exchange or were at war. If they did, or if the countries were in tension, your character would probably have to hide the fact that he/she is actually American - but that shouldn't be a problem in a predominately Russian-speaking metro if they learned the language. Wouldn't have to keep it from all people of course - some Metro residents are all about peace. Others with narrower minds, not so much!

That's the only thing I could see wrong with the tourist, but if anything that might make things more interesting... ;D

Okay...Hmmm Actually that sounds like something I would like to do maybe i'll do a half and half thing to make it a little bit eaiser on myself but it's either this or a character like Kahn.

Remember the war happened in 2013. Is it 2013? Your character would have plenty of time to blend into post-apocalyptic Russian society! xD Maybe if they were a kid at the time, they've been brought up knowing the language and everything.

Ya I was thinking it would be like Artyom, where he is a child through all the early stages. But I might have him outcasted and for him to live with the shadows, maybe being somewhat of a spiritual leader or follower of some sort of new age religion?

Which continuum are you going to use? The one in the games or the on from the books?

The games and the books are a bit the same, but if I have to guess what our GM is plannig, I think the games.
Because it showed a bit more of how the world would seem, and within the books we all have a different few of how something would seem.
Like perhaps a station, one could think as if there was a HUGE station, with quite some guards and humans living in it, when the game showed that it was quite the opposite ;)
Atleast this is MY thought :) if I were you, i'd await the GM his answer ^-^

We'd likely go along with the game-style plot, just for the sake that more people have played that than read the book. Like Shadow said, we can all see the same kind of world/environment from having played the role of Artyom. But of course, the games can't be seen as too realistic. Follow the games -> detail what they might not have in the way we RP it.

Big! You're not going into a Metro RP without me!

I'd be down for this. Not sure what type of character I'd be interested in playing a Stalker of some sort, or some sort of Smuggler. Think Bourbon.

Hmm, well okay.

Never really liked how easy-mode the games felt in comparison to the gritty reality of the books.
