In Edoric's bio, you mentioned how his father got him into an officer role over other families. Drakken culture is a tad bit weird in that literally anyone can rise to any position. If you're strong enough, you can directly oppose the king and try to take his position but most don't do that because if you even try that, you have to get through all the king's champions first (I think). So, officer roles aren't dictated by birth but simply by strength - if someone is strong enough, they can become an officer.

I think there's like warbands for each family so maybe he could be an officer in that?
