It doesn't sound dumb at all. I know I went through the same thing on the last game I GM'd, and ended up just making everyone send all of their character info to me through PM, so the players literally went in blindly. 

If you'd like, I can replace Elora's name with her nickname so that you can have everyone do the same for whatever name they want to put out. I don't mind that it's already been out since, like I said, the other characters won't know it in the game until it's revealed anyway.
