Aye, but keeping a sprawling metropolis around sounds fun enough. The area between Johannesburg and Pretoria is pretty suburban IIRC and there's plenty of farmland around. Central Germany, Russia around Moscow, and the populated bits of Sweden and Finland also qualify.
